With the last of six opening flights in the bag the 181 qualifiers for Day 2 are decided. The 1432 total entries also resulted in a record breaking KRW 1,616,799,600 (~$1,178,399) prize pool - almost doubling the guaranteed KRW 880 Million.


Chang Liang Sun topped the 23 qualifiers out of a total 182 entries in Flight F with 716,000 after a last minute charge including the elimination of Bo Jin with A 9 against Jin's A Q showing down on the A 7 K flop and the dealer completing the board T and 9 and knocking out Tao Li on the buzzer with Q J againsgt Li's K J going all in on the J 9 8 flop that completed 5 and 7 , adding 55 BBs (once blinds are turned back to level 16 at the start of Day 2 tomorrow) to his stack at the last hand of the day.


Xiaosheng Zheng came in 2nd with 419,000 in chips and Wenqing Dong was a close third with 390,000.


All of the 23 qualifiers from Day 1F Turbo only have a few hours left until they can make use of their chips again tomorrow at 12:00 local when Day 2 begins.

The Korea Poker Cup Main Event Day 1F Turbo Starts At 20:00 Local

The second stand alone Korea Poker Cup series taking place at the Landing Casino inside the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World Resort will be headlined by the Main Event featuring an increased KRW 880,000,000 (~USD 637,780) guaranteed prize pool that was already surpassed yesterday and now sits at KRW 1,015,015,950 (~$741,139) with two more flights to go.


Day 1F Turbo is the last of six starting flights costing KRW 1,300,000 (~US$ 946) to enter, adding another tranche of contenders to the 114 out of 897 entries that already bagged their chips for Day 2 in the previous four flights and Day 1E still running at noon today.


Once at the tables, players start with a stack of 30,000 which is a deep 150 times the opening blinds with 20 minute intervals, and late registration stays open until the end of Level 9 at around 23:30.


Cards start flying at 20:00 and SMP Live Updates will pick up the action after Day 1E is over.
