Day 1 of the Red Dragon Prestige Super High Roller has come to a close at Les A Casino here in Jeju, South Korea. One of the series’ standout events, it attracted a top-tier international field. From 97 entries, 76 unique, just 59 players have survived to bag up for tomorrow’s finale, which carries a prize pool of just over KRW 1 billion. With registration remaining open until Level 13 tomorrow, around two hours into play, the prize pool still has time to swell even further.

Leading the field is China’s Yaoyu He, who will take 4,110,000 into Day 2. He has only a handful of recorded cashes, with his best coming for first place at over $40,000 during APT Hanoi a couple of summers ago. He holds a significant chip advantage over the rest of the field and will look to maintain it on the way to a deep run tomorrow.

Bagging 2,970,000 is veteran Renji Mao, currently 13th on China’s All-Time Money List with a career-best live cash exceeding $4 million. Mao proved a threat on Day 1, catching Haiwei Liang in a bluff while flopping a pair of tens to add more than 400,000 chips to his stack in the middle stages of play.

Rounding out the top three for Day 1 is another Chinese national, Peng Deng. He’s bagging 2,670,000 for tomorrow, after a key hand where his nine-deuce suited outdrew Wenchao Liu’s queen-ten suited, turning trips to beat top pair. With just five live cashes recorded on Hendon Mob and a career-best of $78,950 here at APT Jeju only a few weeks ago, Deng will be hoping to carry that momentum into Day 2 and push for another deep run.

Thailand’s Punnat Punsri, currently first on the country’s All-Time Money List with over $30 million in live earnings, showed his tenacity today when his pocket queens rivered a full house to best Aaron Lim in the early stages of play. Just outside the top 10 in chips, bagging 1,450,000, Punsri will be a force to be reckoned with on the felt tomorrow.

Another player advancing to Day 2 is China’s Dong Chen. No stranger to deep runs in high rollers, Chen recently claimed the KPC Single Day Super High Roller title, outlasting a 107-player field packed with talent. His victory earned him $240,100 after besting a tough field including WSOP bracelet winners Guoliang Wei, Joseph Cheong, and Weiran Pu.

With roughly 195,000 chips in the middle, a flop came A♦ 3♠ 9♣. Nevan Chang led out for 55,000 in the big blind, and Christopher Young called from middle position.

The board-pairing 9♣ hit on the turn, and Chang checked to Young, who bet 85,000, which was good for the pot as Chang laid it down.

Khoa Anh Ngo raised to 25,000 and was called by three players: hijack Dylan Foster plsu blinds Michael Seunghyun and Yuhang Liu.

Liu and Ngo check-folded and Seunghyun check-called Foster's 41,000 bet on the 3♦ 9♦ T♦ flop.

Seunghyun check-folded when Foster fired 70,000 on the T♥ turn.

Aorigele Fnu limped in on the button, and Patrik Demus checked from the big blind.

Demus check-called after Fnu led out for 25,000 on the monochrome 7♠ Q♠ 5♠ flop to see an A♦ fall on the turn, where Demus checked over again. Fnu then fired 55,000, prompting a fold from Demus.

In the following hand, Yude Ma opened to 25,000 from under the gun, and Hugues Girard three-bet the button to 75,000. Ma dropped in the call.

On the 2♥ 3♦ 3♠ flop, Ma checked to Girard, who continued with a 45,000 bet, and Ma check-called.

The T♥ hit on the turn, and Girard checked. Ma bet 110,000, forcing Girard to let go of his cards.

UTG Yanghao Fu limped in and big blind Hang Xu made the call.

Xu check-called Fu’s 20,000 bet on the T♠ 7♠ 3♦ flop.

On the 7♥ turn, Xu led out for 35,000 and Fu called.

The 6♣ completed the board, and both players checked. Xu showed J♠ 9♠ for a busted straight draw and Fu’s A♣ T♦ was good for the pot.

The action was missed, but when we got there, there were roughly 300,000 chips in the pot with a board reading 5♦ T♦ T♥ A♦ 3♠.

Roman Hrabec bet 107,000 from the hijack, leaving only 5,000 behind. Renji Mao dropped in the call on the button.

Hrabec tabled 8♣ 6♣ for eight-high, while Mao revealed a turned flush with J♦ 9♦, dragging in the pot.

In the following hand, Hrabec shoved for 5,000 from under the gun, and Haiwei Liang called from middle position, as did Hugues Girard from the small blind. Patrik Demus checked over in the big blind.

The blinds checked over the K♥ Q♠ 4♦ flop to Liang, who led out for 10,000. Only Demus came along.

The duet then checked through the runout of Q♣ Q♦ and took it to a showdown.

Demus tabled A♦ T♣ for ace-high, while Hrabec flipped over Q♥ 2♦ for quad queens, which also beat Liang’s ace-high with A♥ J♣.

Hrabec dragged in the pot and successfully extended his tournament run a little bit longer.

Cutoff Ke Hu opened to 25,000 and big blind Joshua McCully called.

McCully folded to Ke’s 20,000 continuation bet on the 5♣ T♣ 3♥ flop.

Hand 2

Hijack Hu raised to 20,000 and was called by blinds McCully and Chenxu Zhang.

McCully folded on the 8♥ 6♠ A♣ flop, while Zhang check-called Hu’s 20,000 continuation bet. On the 5♦ turn, Zhang checked again and folded to Hu’s 30,000 bet.

Hand 3

UTG Sean Ooi opened to 20,000 but folded when big blind Liangcai Chen three-bet to 80,000.

Hand 4

Cutoff McCully raised to 21,000 and was called by button Zhang.

On the 7♣ Q♥ 5♦ flop, McCully check-called Zhang’s 22,000 bet. Both checked the 8♣ turn and T♠ river, where McCully led out for 45,000. Zhang called and saw McCully table J♣ J♦ for pocket jacks, taking the pot.

Hand 5

Button Chen opened to 20,000 and was called by small blind Ooi.

Action checked through the J♣ K♣ T♣ Q♣ flop and turn, which nearly completed a royal flush. The 3♠ river changed nothing, and both players checked. Ooi showed Q♠ J♥ for two pair, and Chen mucked.

Dylan Wayne Foster limped in from the small blind, and Xiangyu Yu raised to 40,000 in the big blind. Foster made the call.

Foster check-called on the T♣ K♠ 6♦ flop after Yu continued for 20,000. The 2♠ hit on the turn, and Foster checked to Yu, who then fired 65,000, prompting a snap-fold from Foster.

In the following hand, the board ran out J♠ 8♦ Q♣ 3♥ J♣ with around 200,000 chips in the pot. Chenxiang Miao checked from the small blind, and Ke Hu bet 75,000. After thinking for a long time, Miao opted to call.

Ke tabled his pair with K♣ K♥, and it was good for the pot as Miao tossed his cards into the muck.

UTG Meng Ling Lin opened to 20,000 and was called by small blind Hugo Girard and big blind Aoto Rikukawa.

All three checked the A♠ J♥ 8♦ flop, taking them to the T♥ turn. Girard check-folded, while Rikukawa check-called Lin’s 25,000 bet.

The 2♥ completed the board and Rikukawa checked again. Lin fired 100,000, and after a brief pause Rikukawa called, only to see Lin table Q♥ 9♥ for a turned flush. Lin showed A♥ 7♥.

Khoa Anh Ngo from under the gun, Punnat Punsri on the button, Liang Dong from the cutoff, and Yuhang Liu from the small blind called. Aije Hu checked over in the big blind.

The five players all tapped the table on the 4♦ Q♦ 9♣ flop to see a K♥ fall on the turn, where it checked to Dong, who led out for 20,000. After a string of folds, action got back to Ngo, who cranked it up to 80,000. Dong came along.

Dong checked over the 7♦ river to Ngo, who fired another barrel of 100,000, sending Dong into the tank. After around two minutes, Dong shoved for roughly 365,000. Ngo snap-called.

Dong saw Ngo’s flopped set of fours with 4♥ 4♠ and, with clear regret, tossed his turned pair of kings with K♣ J♦ into the muck before standing up and heading for the exit.

Peng Deng opened from under the gun and called when small blind Bin Leng moved all in for 550,000:

The board ran out 7♣ 8♦ 9♠ T♠ 2♦, giving Peng a flush draw along the way, but Leng’s ladies held strong to secure the full double through Peng.

Chenxu Zhang raised to 22,000 from under the gun, and Chenxiang Miao defended his big blind.

Miao check-called on the J♠ Q♦ 7♠ flop after Zhang continued with a 17,000 bet. The turn brought a 5♠, and it went check-check.

The Q♠ filled out the board, and Miao checked to Zhang again, who fired 50,000. Miao dropped in the call after thinking for a while.

Zhang then revealed quad queens with Q♣ Q♥, leaving Miao no choice but to muck.

With around 45,000 chips in the middle, the dealer sent a J♥ Q♦ 9♣ flop, and Michael Seunghyun checked from the small blind, as did Peng Deng in the big blind. Wenchao Liu then led out for 38,000. Seunghyun cranked it up to 50,000, which his two opponents called.

The 9♠ hit on the turn, and Seunghyun checked. Deng then fired 52,000. Only Liu came along this time.

When a J♥ filled out the board, both players tapped the table and took it to a free showdown. Deng tabled trip nines with 9♥ 2♥ to beat Liu's pair with Q♥ T♥.

UTG Yuhang Liu opened to 16,000 and was called by big blind Liang Dong.

Dong check-called Liu’s 15,000 continuation bet on the 4♣ A♥ 9♣ flop.

The 6♦ landed on the turn, and after another check from Dong, Liu fired 35,000. Dong folded.

Hand 2

Hijack Huu Dung Nguyen raised to 16,000 and was three-bet by button Punnat Punsri to 43,000. Big blind

Liu then four-bet to 120,000, and Nguyen responded with a five-bet shove worth 410,000. Punsri quickly folded, and Liu followed after some thought.

Hand 3

Nguyen opened to 16,000 from middle position and called when cutoff Punsri three-bet to 46,000.

On the 5♣ 8♣ J♥ flop, Nguyen checked and folded to Punsri’s 58,000 continuation bet.

Roman Hrabec raised to 16,000 from under the gun, and Patrik Demus defended his big blind.

Demus check-called on the 4♠ 4♣ 6♣ flop after Hrabec continued for 10,000.

When a 5♦ hit on the turn, Demus changed his gear and fired out 22,000. Hrabec stuck around.

The T♣ filled out the board, and Demus sent another barrel of 78,000, sending Hrabec into the tank. After burning one time bank card, Hrabec eventually laid it down.

The action was picked up on the river on the 6♦ 3♦ J♠ J♥ 2♥ board with around 300,000 chips in the pot.

Liang Dong checked over from the big blind, and Khoa Anh Ngo fired 250,000 from middle position. Dong dropped in the call.

Dong flipped over his pair with K♠ K♥ and dragged in the sizable pot.

In the next hand, a T♣ 2♦ K♦ flop came with around 350,000 chips in the pot. Renji Mao checked from the big blind, and Haiwei Liang also knuckled it back on the button.

The dealer sent a board-pairing K♠, and Mao led out for 8,000. Liang then cranked it up to 26,000. Mao stuck around.

An 8♦ fell on the river, where Mao check-called again, this time for 12,000 from Liang.

Liang then flipped over a bluff, 5♠ 4♠, while Mao tabled T♠ 7♣ for a flopped pair of tens.

Hijack Zihao Zhang opened to 16,000 and picked up calls from button Christian Harder and big blind Qidong He.

Action checked through on the Q♦ 9♣ J♣ flop to the 8♠ turn, where He check-folded to Zhang’s 22,000 bet and Harder made the call.

Both players checked the 8♦ river. Zhang revealed A♥ A♦ for pocket aces, comfortably taking the pot.

It’s worth noting that Harder was down to just two big blinds, around 11,000 in chips, about an hour ago. Despite this small setback, he’s managed to regain solid momentum.

Yude Ma opened to 18,000 from under the gun, and Liangcai Chen called from middle position.

Ma continued for 12,000 on the T♥ 4♥ 7♥ flop, and Chen stuck around to the 3♥ turn, where it went check-check.

The 7♦ filled out the board, and Ma fired out 60,000, which didn’t deter Chen from making the call.

Ma tabled his pair with Q♣ Q♥ and took down the pot as Chen folded.

Hijack Dinesh Alt opened to 18,000 and picked up three callers: button Roman Hrabec, along with blinds Joseph Cheong and Haiwei Liang, going four ways to the flop.

The dealer spread J♠ 7♦ 7♣, and action checked to Hrabec, who bet 25,000. Only Liang called.

The 9♠ fell on the turn, and Liang check-called a second barrel worth 75,000.

On the 2♣ river, Liang checked once more. Hrabec took his time before sliding out 325,000, most of his remaining stack.

Liang tanked for a long while, studying the spot carefully, before finally releasing his hand.

Hand 1

With around 103,000 chips in the middle, a flop came 8♦ 4♥ 5♠, and Qidong He checked from the big blind. Christian Harder led out for 27,000 on the button, to which He cranked it up to 75,000, prompting a fold from Harder.

Hand 2

Zihao Zhang limped in from middle position, and Christian Harder raised the cutoff to 11,000. Xiaochun Shi then three-bet the button to 63,000, forcing his two opponents to fold.

Hand 3

Hugues Girard limped in from the small blind, and Meng Ling Lin defended her big blind.

The duet tapped the table throughout the K♣ 8♣ 7♥ 2♠ 2♦ board and took it to a free showdown.

Hugues revealed jack-high with J♣ 3♥, while Lin tabled ace-high with A♠ 5♥ and took down the pot.

After shoving all in without looking at his cards, Cheng Rui Wong got folds all around. He repeated the move twice more, but on the third attempt, next-to-act Ke Hu decided to call.

Wong was already out of his seat and wishing Hu good luck by the time the 6♣ A♣ 9♠ flop appeared. The 7♠ Q♥ runout confirmed his exit from the tournament.

Shortly after, Renhao Fang took his seat in Wong’s place.

In the following hand, Hu raised to 12,000 from middle position and was called by Liangcai Chen on the button.

Both checked the J♥ 8♠ 6♥ 9♦ board to the river, where Chen slid out 8,000 on the 7♥. Hu folded without hesitation.

The next hand saw some heavy four-way action. Cutoff Yude Ma opened to 12,000 and picked up calls from button Chenxu Zhang, small blind Chen, and big blind Feng.

Chen checked the J♣ 6♦ 2♣ flop, as did Feng. Ma continued for 26,000, Zhang called, and Chen raised to 105,000. Only Ma came along.

The 7♥ landed on the turn, and Chen fired 150,000. Ma called once again.

The 4♥ completed the board, and both players checked. Chen showed Q♣ 6♣, while Ma revealed 7♣ 3♣ to take it down, both missing their flushes, but Ma pairing up on the turn.

Aaron Lim made it 12,000 to go from under the gun, and Liangcai Chen three-bet the button to 50,000. Ke Hu then shoved all in for roughly 395,000. Aaron Lim called off his 106,000, putting his tournament life on the line. Chen stepped aside.

Lim took command with a stronger kicker king, but Hu took over the lead as he picked up a pair of tens on the T♠ Q♣ 7♥ flop, while Lim got a gutshot.

The 5♥ landed on the turn, and Lim still needed a king or a jack for his survival. Luck was on his side as the river delivered a K♠, connecting with his king and making Hu cough up chips for Lim's double-up.

Patrik Demus opened to 35,000 from under the gun, and Joseph Cheong called from the hijack, as did Haogen Huang in the cutoff. Aorigele Fnu three-bet the small blind to 150,000. After a string of folds, Dinesh Alt dropped in the call.

Fnu continued for 125,000 on the 2♦ 8♥ 2♠ flop, and Alt snap-folded.

In the following hand, Huang opened the hijack to 31,000. Fnu three-bet the button to 80,000. However, the drama wasn't over here, as Huang made a 200,000 four-bet. Fnu thought for a while before he announced the call.

On the J♣ Q♦ 6♥ flop, Huang shoved for 270,000, which Fnu snap-called to put his tablemate at risk.

Fnu took command with pocket aces against Huang's flopped pair of jacks. The 8♦ came on the turn, leaving Huang drawing thin.

Unfortunately for Huang, the 3♠ river sealed his fate, pushing the monster pot Fnu's way.

Cutoff Yude Ma opened to 10,000 and called when big blind Dajie Zhuo three-bet to 30,000.

Zhuo led for 18,000 on the 4♥ Q♥ 9♣ flop, and Ma called to see the turn. Both checked the J♣ turn and 3♣ river, where Zhuo check-called Ma’s 60,000 bet. Ma showed J♣ 6♣ for a flush, and Zhuo mucked.

In the following hand, hijack Yuelun Wang raised to 10,000 and called cutoff Qiuwen Liang’s 30,000 three-bet.

Both checked the 9♦ J♥ 8♠ flop, and Wang took the lead on the 7♣ turn with a bet of 70,000. Liang gave it some thought before letting his hand go.

In the third hand, button Zhuo opened to 10,000 and small blind Yanghao Fu made the call.

Fu check-called Zhuo’s 9,000 continuation bet on the J♣ J♠ 5♠ flop.

The 4♠ hit the turn, and this time Fu led out for 17,000. Zhuo called.

Fu checked the 8♦ river, and Zhuo pushed 60,000 into the middle. After a short pause, Fu made the call and saw Zhuo table 4♣ 4♥ for a turned full house. Fu mucked.

Chenxiang Miao opened to 10,000 from under the gun and Martin Sedlak called on the button.

Miao continued with a small 10,000 bet on the 5♠ 6♠ J♥ flop and Sedlak stuck around.

The two then tapped the table throughout the 3♠ 8♦ runout. Miao flipped over his pair with 7♣ 7♠ and took down the pot as Sedlak folded.

Christian Harder made it 8,000 to go from under the gun and Zihao Zhang three-bet the small blind to 20,000. Harder called.

Both players checked to the river on the K♥ 4♥ 7♦ T♦ A♣ board, where Zhang checked to Harder, who bet 14,000. Zhang thought for a while before he dropped in the call.

Harder showed a rivered aces with A♥ 6♥ and dragged in the pot.

UTG Liangcai Chen opened to 8,000 and was met with a three-bet to 24,000 from Fen Mai. Nevan Chang then four-bet to 115,000, with only Mai coming along.

The board ran out 6♣ 7♦ T♥ 2♥ 5♠, and both players checked it down. Each revealed ace-king offsuit, resulting in a chopped pot.

In the following hand, Martin Sedlak raised to 10,000 from middle position and called when hijack Dong Chen three-bet to 30,000. Sedlak check-folded the K♦ 4♠ 2♣ flop after Chen continued for 35,000.

The next hand at Table 44 saw Chen open to 8,000 from middle position, with big blind Fen defending.

Fen check-called a 5,000 bet on the K♣ K♦ 9♠ flop before checking again on the 4♦ turn. Chen fired 30,000 this time, and Fen quickly folded.

Liangcai Chen opened the cutoff to 8,000 and Fen Mai defended his big blind.

Mai check-called on the monochrome 2♣ 4♣ A♣ flop after Chen continued with a 15,000 bet.

The duet then knuckled it back on the 9♠ 7♥ runout and took it to a free showdown.

Main flipped Q♣ 7♦ for a rivered pair of sevens, and it was good for the pot as Chen laid it down.

Liang Dong opened to 9,000 from middle position, and Yuhang Liu three-bet to 35,000 in the cutoff. Hui Chen called. Dong then shoved for around 635,000. Liu called for 558,000. Chen stepped aside, leaving Liu at risk against Dong.

Liu took the command with pocket eights and held control on the K♦ A♣ 7♦ flop. The 2♣ landed on the turn, leaving Dong drawing to a queen only.

Fortunately for Liu, the deck locked him up a double-up with 9♦ river, leaving Dong short.

Punnat Punsri made it 7,000 to go from middle position and Aaron Lim called from the small blind, as did Kun Wang in the big blind.

The trio saw a Q♦ 2♣ 7♠ flop and the blinds checked to Punsri, who continued with an 8,000 bet. Only Lim stuck around.

Lim then check-called on the 9♠ turn after Punsri sent another barrel of 40,000.

When the board-pairing 9♥ came on the river, Lim checked. Punsri kept his pace with his third barrel of 100,000, sending Lim into a tough situation. After thinking for a while, Lim called.

Punsri quickly showed Q♥ Q♠ for a boat, dragging in the pot as Lim mucked his cards.

Small blind Patrik Demus limped in and called when big blind Yuan Li raised to 10,000.

The dealer spread a 4♦ K♠ Q♦ flop, and Demus checked. Li continued for 12,000, prompting a quick fold from Demus.

Li continues to hold a commanding stack in the early stages of the RD Prestige Super High Roller.

Hijack Chi Ngong Tang opened to 6,500 and small blind Dinesh Alt made the call.

The flop came K♣ 7♠ T♥, and Alt check-called Tang’s 6,500 continuation bet.

Action repeated on the 5♣ turn, this time for 13,000.

Both players checked the 6♦ river; Alt showed A♦ T♣, but Tang’s K♠ J♣ held for the higher pair.

Both players then tapped the table on the 4♥ turn and 3♠ river. Mai tabled a flopped pair of nines with 9♦ 8♦, and it was good for the pot.
