Day 1B Falls Behind With 1,656 Players

Strong start for Day 1B of the CPG Championship with nearly double the numbers at the starting bell compared to Day 1A, however, as the day progressed, the turnout slowed. By the end of registration, it drew less than the opener by one, making this a first at the CPG. This reduction was largely due to the typhoon wherein all events from August 24 onwards were moved one day forward. Still, the second flight drew an astounding 1,656 players. At the end of the scheduled ten levels of play, only 554 remained led by Qiang Wang with 394,000 in chips.
