New Record For Day 1A With 1,657 Players

The 2025 CPG Championship Finals came out swinging as Day 1A of the Main Event delivered a record-breaking turnout. This being a freezeout event, a staggering 1,657 players took their seats on opening day, setting the tone for what is shaping up to be another historic year in Sanya.

From the moment the cards hit the felt at noon, the Howard Johnson Resort was buzzing with 327 players nearly filling up the Red Room. One hour later, at the start of Level 2, the field had grown to 799 players occupying two rooms - Red Room and Orange Room. And by the start of Level 3, there were 1,111 players signed up, three tournament halls were packed wall to wall, and chips flying across more than 120 tables as players continued to pour in.

With two more starting flights still to come, the numbers are expected to soar well past the 4,000 mark, once again confirming the CPG Championship as the largest annual poker festival in Asia.
