Marc Rivera Is The Bubble Boy
Flight A PokerStars Red Dragon (PHP 25M GTD)
Blinds: 2,000/4,000 Ante 4,000 (Level 15)
Action folded to Marc Rivera on the dealer button, who made the minimum call of 4,000. The small blind did not complete the 2,000, and when action came to big blind Tomoyuki Yoshimiya, he pushed all-in for 450,000 to defend his big blind. Marc Rivera made the call for his remaining 240,000.
Rivera must've been setting a trap. Yoshimiya must've been trying to make a play and didn't expect a caller. Rivera must've been pleased. However, the poker gods need to test tilt levels sometimes and award the unlikely card to win. In this case, Yoshimiya's five on the flop to defeat the dominating big slick of Rivera and send him out of his seat as the bubble boy.
With the bubble bursting, the remaining 22 players out of 145 entries automatically are guaranteed in the money. The payout will still be determined after registration officially closes at tomorrow's Day 1 Flight B. The 22 players will return on Day 2 to compete for bigger shares of the guaranteed prize pool of PHP 25,000,000 (~US$ 428,300).
