WPL X KSOP underway in Korea; Yohwan Lim, Sungjoo Hyun among pros in action; ₩500M gtd Main Event today

Thrilling live poker action is taking place right now in South Korea with the Winjoy Poker League (WPL) and Korea Series of Poker (KSOP) hosting a three day event at the Grand Hyatt Incheon. The series opened yesterday, December 30, and will run through January 1. A total of six tournaments are scheduled and a substantial ₩777,000,000 (~US$ 615,700) in guaranteed prize pools. What better way to end the year and welcome in the new one than by capturing the last/first Asia live titles.

Currently heating up the floor is the ₩500 Million guaranteed Main Event with 295 players out of 1,250 back on the felt for Day 2. Up for grabs is the handsome ₩120,000,000 (~US$ 95,100) top prize. Among the players looking to ship it are WPL Team pros – former Starcraft pro Yohwan “BoxeR” Lim and WSOP bracelet champion Sungjoo Hyun.
