PokerStars Announces 3rd edition of APPT Cambodia feat $1 Million in Guarantees

The flagship live poker series of PokerStars in Asia returns for the third time in as many years with Asia Pacific Poker Tour – APPT Cambodia set to take place from November 15 to 25, 2024. Once again, the five-star NagaWorld Integrated Resort in the capital of Phnom Penh will be the host venue for the series, which features more than $1 million in guarantees.

APPT Cambodia Main Event

Back in November 2022, the inaugural edition of APPT Cambodia attracted a field of 378 entries and Canada’s Alexander Puchalski defeated Akshay Kapoor in heads-up to take the trophy to Thailand.

Half a year later in May 2023, the field size in the marquee event of the series reached 476 entries for a prize pool of USD $623,322 to surpass the USD $400K guarantee by more than fifty percent. Chao-Ting Cheng and Junnie Pamplona cut a heads-up deal and continued to play for the trophy with Cheng securing the title as well as a payout of USD $94,448.

The guarantee for the upcoming third edition has been boosted to USD $500,000 and the 2024 APPT Cambodia Main Event has an increased price tag of USD $1,650. Multiple starting days will be available from November 21 to 23 whereas a winner will then be crowned on the final day of the series on November 25.

Other APPT Cambodia Highlights

All the action will take place in the stunning Grand Ballroom at Naga 1 and it all kicks off on November 15 with the USD $400 APPT NagaWorld Kickoff, which boasts a USD $50,000 guarantee. One day later, the USD $900 APPT National gets underway with a USD $150,000 guarantee and will play down to a winner on November 19.

Other key events include the $600 APPT Mystery Bounty (USD $100,000 guarantee), the USD $10,000 APPT Cambodia Super High Roller and the USD $5,000 APPT High Roller, the latter of which has a guarantee of USD $200,000 and runs alongside the Main Event on the final two days of the series.

• APPT High Roller: November 24-25, 2024 – $5,000 ($200,000 GTD)

Online satellites start from June 2nd on PokerStars, with daily feeders from as little as $2.20. Players can also secure a silver pass worth $2,5000 through PokerStars Power Path.
