Benjamin Zamani
Benjamin Zamani is an American professional poker player from Boca Raton, Florida, who has become a household name on the tournament circuit. Born in Germany, he moved to the United States and began playing poker in high school with friends before quickly realizing he had a special talent for the game. Known for being incredibly humble and sometimes shy in the spotlight, Zamani has let his cards do the talking, winning multiple World Series of Poker bracelets and a World Poker Tour Player of the Year title. He is widely respected by his peers as one of the most generous and gifted players in the modern era.
Career Earnings & Biggest Results
According to The Hendon Mob, Benjamin Zamani has won over $5.2 million in live tournament earnings. His biggest career score came early on in 2010 when he finished 4th in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event for a massive $1,000,000.
Zamani is a two time World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelet winner. His first bracelet came in 2015 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event where he won $460,640. He famously avoided the winner’s photo at first because he was so focused on the game, though he eventually returned to claim his prize. He won his second bracelet in 2017 during a $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event for $238,620. Beyond the WSOP, he was the WPT Player of the Year for the 2016-2017 season after reaching three final tables in a single year. Most recently, in early 2026, he has stayed active with several deep runs at the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open and WSOP Circuit events in Florida.

Biography & Poker Background
Born in 1986, Benjamin Zamani grew up in Florida after his family moved from Germany. He started playing poker in high school, and while he only plays No Limit Hold’em in tournaments, he is known to love Pot Limit Omaha when playing cash games. Before he became a live star, he was a massive winner in the online poker world under the screen name “xthesteinx”. His friends describe him as someone who doesn’t care much about the money or the fame, but instead focuses purely on the competition and being the best player at the table. He is known to be very generous with his winnings and values his close circle of fellow poker pros more than the trophies themselves.
Play Style & Strategy
Zamani is known for a fearless and ahead of the curve approach to the game. His background in online poker allowed him to develop aggressive strategies that many live players were not used to seeing during his early career. He is particularly famous for his ability to pick off big bluffs, which was the key to winning his first WSOP bracelet. Unlike players who use table talk to get information, Zamani often remains silent and uses his intense focus to read his opponents’ moves. He is a very consistent player who knows how to maintain his stack over several days of play, a skill that helped him dominate the WPT Player of the Year race.
