WSOP 2026 – Moment of the Day – 17 June – Legendary dealer, Ray J

The World Series of Poker is really on full throttle, as it features over 100 bracelet events in a period of one and a half months. There are multiple level live satellites, events with more than one first day, and over 200,000 entries combined. There are featured tables, high-roller events, and, this year, even Hustler Casino Live is hosted at the venue, adding to the entertainment and excitement.
We’ve already seen that the extreme pressure on the organizers to accommodate the needs of such an enormous event can sometimes be challenging in ways players already notice . But we’ll be eager to give credit where it is due, so we picked this satisfying moment of the day to show you.
Meet Ray J, the legendary WSOP dealer
There are true legends on the other side of the felt as well – Ray J is a player favorite for good reason. He has been dealing at the WSOP tables since 1976 – that means stunning 50 years!

Fun fact: Ray J always has some pink Starburst chew candies in his pocket, so coveted and an honor to earn that a players sometimes go for it instead of chips:
I always like it when Ray is the dealer. It’s crazy how many people I’ve seen go broke 1st hand trying to win a Starburst.
Maybe that’s their Moment of the Day at the WSOP 2026. But a bracelet and a six-figure prize isn’t bad either. If you are playing at any of the events, make sure you show your dealer appreciation and use the Dealer Rating System to contribute this extra feedback to WSOP and earn an extra perk for the winners.
However, if you don’t want to rely on live personnel or don’t like that specific candy, just hop into a seat at an online poker table and enjoy the game from the comfort of your home. But remember, no Starburst for you then!
My journey in the world of poker (and later casino, sportsbetting) started more than 20 years ago, when I first attended a low-stakes live tournament. I’ve never looked back since, and have been active in several fields, including being a poker player, a live tournament director, writing online and offline articles about poker, and managing the localization of one of the world's largest online poker rooms. Poker is my home ground, I could never imagine doing a job that is not a part of it. I hope someday I’ll have more time to play live; that's something I've missed in the past few years. A game where luck meets skill - what would be more interesting?
