Poker Dream Jeju Main Event Draws 1,394 Entries For Record KR₩ 2,580,588,000 Prize Pool
The 16th edition of Poker Dream has once again proved its popularity as the Main Event attracted 1,394 entries at the Landing Casino to drive the prize pool to KR₩ 2,580,588,000 (~USD 1,790,086). This figure set a new record for the brand at the Jeju Shinhwa World in Jeju Island, South Korea.

Over the course of four days, players took their chances at the Poker Dream Jeju Main Event with 11 flights scheduled. The largest contingent was from China and unsurprisingly, they dominated the survivors list.
Heading into Day 2, a total of 188 players, including multiple qualifiers that earned Dream Bonus cash prizes will return. The upcoming stage will play eight levels of 60 minutes each after which the remaining players will get another overnight break before resuming for Day 3. All the returnees are guaranteed KR₩ 3,800,000 ($2,640) in the bank, but of course, the target will be the top prize of KR₩ 376,000,000 ($261,045) and bragging rights.
Chip Leaders And Notables Into Day 2

Going into Day 2, several players will be entering with very deep stacks namely Day 1H leader Liu Yayun (663,000 – 132 bb), Day 1G leader Huang Weiwei (649,000 – 129 bb), Day 1K leader Zheng Tianhao (649,000 – 129 bb), Su Jie (635,000 – 127 bb), Yo Xiaoteng (598,000 – 119 bb), and Day 1E leader Jingxuan Zhu (586,000 – 117 bb) to mention a few.

Not among the big stacks, but worth mentioning are Kong Qingtao – the Poker Dream Jeju Main Event defending champion – qualifying twice, taking 67,000 to Day 2 and poker legend John Juanda who had a late double up with 9♥9♣ against A♥2♥ and will start Day 2 with 87,000.

For those that missed the mark, there a plethora of choices in the Poker Dream Jeju menu with buy ins covering a range of bankrolls. The highly popular Mystery Bounty are the day’s featured tournaments with a High Roller buy in of KR₩ 6,000,000 (~$4,130) and a more affordable buy in of KR₩ 1,500,000 (~$1,000) on schedule.
