GLPC IV 2026 Wraps With 6,244 Entries, VND 63.8B Prize Pool; Next Stop GLPC V and Ultimate Showdown Announced
The Grand Loyal Poker Championship (GLPC) IV 2026 has officially concluded at the Grand Loyal Poker Club , located within the luxury Grand Vista Hanoi Hotel. Recognized as one of the biggest local tournament series in Vietnam , the festival was a massive success, far exceeding its ambitious VND 50 billion (~USD 2 million) series guarantee.
GLPC IV Wraps With 47 Champions And VND 63.8B Prize Pool

Over the 11-day festival from April 17 to 27, the series recorded 6,244 entries and generated a total prize pool of VND 63,810,330,000 (~USD 2,430,480), with 47 trophies awarded in total.
Nearly half of those belonged to Vietnam, with local players securing 23 trophies. The remaining hardware was claimed by an international field, including China with 8, India with 6, and two each for Hong Kong and Russia . Australia , France , Italy , the Netherlands , Singapore , and Taiwan also added to their tallies with 1 trophy apiece.
Avneesh Munjal Claims GLPC IV Main Event Title

The flagship GLPV IV Main Event highlighted the series’ growth, featuring a VND 16 billion (~USD 607,000) guarantee, a step up from the VND 12 billion prize pool seen at GLPC III in January. The event drew 1,094 entries, pushing the final prize pool to more than VND 16.8 billion (~USD 641,205). A total of 138 players finished in the money, but the spotlight belonged to India’s Avneesh Munjal .
Munjal secured the prestigious title and a top prize of VND 2.8 billion (~USD 106,400) after defeating local favorite Victor Lam in heads-up play. This victory marks the largest live cash of Munjal’s career, further cementing his status as a rising star on the Asian poker circuit.

Quang Hieu Nguyen Claims Mini Main Event For Career-Best Score

While the Main Event drew massive crowds, the Mini Main Event also proved to be a powerhouse tournament, attracting 1,081 entries. The high turnout generated a prize pool of VND 10.43 billion (~USD 396,365), comfortably crushing the VND 8 billion guarantee.
Local grinder Quang Hieu Nguyen emerged as the champion, securing a massive VND 1.65 billion (~USD 62,700) payday. This victory represents the biggest cash-out to date for Nguyen, a dedicated local player who has never competed outside of Vietnam. To claim the title, he defeated Hao Chen in a heads-up battle, with Chen taking home VND 1.08 billion (~USD 41,130) for his runner-up finish.
Starting with a buy-in of VND 11 million (~USD 415), Nguyen managed to navigate through a tough field of 138 players who made the money, proving once again that Vietnam’s local talent can hold their own in major international-standard fields.

Duel Between Hai Duong Tran And Tom Verbruggen
One of the standout storylines of the series was the back-to-back heads-up battles between Tom Verbruggen and Hai Duong Tran in two featured events.

The first heads-up came in the Kick Off Event , which drew 1,303 entries and generated a total prize pool of VND 7.56 billion (~USD 287,545). Verbruggen came out on top, claiming VND 1.2 billion (~USD 45,600) after defeating Tran, who earned VND 802 million (~USD 30,480) for second place.

Just two days later, the two met again in the Super High Roller , a much smaller but high-stakes field of 40 entries with a prize pool of VND 1.94 billion (~USD 73,720). This time, the result was reversed, as Tran secured the win and VND 689,700,000 (~USD 26,210), while Verbruggen finished runner-up with VND 459,800,000 (~USD 17,470).
Notably, Tran finished as the second-highest earner of the series with USD 78,020, behind Munjal, while Verbruggen placed fourth overall with USD 69,830, alongside Lam, who finished runner-up in the Main Event.
Multi-Day Tournaments Surpass Thousand-Entry Milestone
The festival was a huge hit, especially with three events that each drew in more than a thousand entries. This really shows how much the GLPC name is growing.
| Event | Entries | Guarantee (VND) |
Final Prize Pool (VND)
|
|---|---|---|---|
| Kick Off Event | 1,303 | 6,000,000,000 | 7,566,960,000 |
| Main Event | 1,094 | 16,000,000,000 | 16,873,880,000 |
| Mini Main Event | 1,081 | 8,000,000,000 | 10,430,700,000 |
The energy started early with the Kick Off Event, which brought in 1,303 entries and easily beat its 6 billion guarantee. The Main Event kept that momentum going, with 1,094 players pushing the total prize money past the 16 billion mark. Finally, the Mini Main Event was another big win, seeing 1,081 entries and a total prize pool of over 10.43 billion, way more than the 8 billion originally guaranteed.

Discussing the recent success of the series, Tobias Bui of Grand Loyal Poker Club highlighted the organization’s commitment to the player experience:
We are incredibly proud of the recent turnout; the number of entries we saw for the multi-day events was truly impressive. Our priority remains consistent: to provide a safe, professional, and world-class poker environment for every player who walks through our doors.
Looking toward the second half of the year, Bui revealed that the momentum is only set to increase:
We have two more upcoming series, including one in August. Everything is currently building toward the GLPC Ultimate Showdown, which we plan to be the largest and most prestigious series in our calendar.
Next Stop: Grand Loyal Poker Championship V And The Ultimate Showdown

Following the massive success of the fourth edition, organizers have officially announced the return of the series with Grand Loyal Poker Championship (GLPC) V. The festival will return to the Grand Loyal Poker Club from July 31 to August 11, 2026.
