Action Junkies: Jake Cody, Gus Hansen, Felix Stephensen Bet Big and Win
2018 has only just started but pros are already busy gambling and are always looking for more action.
Jake Cody puts $60,000 UKPC High Roller win on black!
Jake Cody made headlines in the poker world last week with a ridiculous wager made in Dusk Til Dawn casino. Underlining the fact that many top pros are action junkies, he decided to put everything he had won for a four-way chop in the UKPC High Roller event on black at the roulette wheel. Video footage showed the trophy, and around $60,000 on the table, having been bet on black. Cody then urged Dusk Til Dawn casino owner Rob Yong to do the honours and spin the wheel, with a crowd of gathered friends and onlookers chanting for black.
To the raucous joy of the crowd, Cody won the flip, with the ball landing on black 22. The room erupted with cheers as Cody turned $60,000 profit in the space of about ten seconds, in an act of sheer degeneracy.
Cody wasn’t alone in jumping into some big money action during recent weeks, as Gus Hansen also posted a video speaking of his cash game sessions over in Rozvadov.
500,000 Euro pot played by Gus Hansen
Leon Tsoukernik owner of Kings Casino Rozvadov just joined us for some highstakes Chinese action 🙂

The Danish pro has only just started getting back into live poker after being away from the tables, and so he decidedly to ‘tentatively’ dip his toe back into the waters with some six-figure swings.
Hansen didn’t make an appearance at the tournament tables or Pot Limit Omaha ones but, instead in a crazy Open Face Chinese poker game. It’s commonly admitted that this format involves more luck than other formats (It’s very hard to have a significant edge vs a competent opponent) but action junkies are still playing it live at the highest stakes.
The session related by Hansen involved him losing a 500,000 Euro pot to casino owner Leon Tsoukernik, before coming out of the session ahead by 100,000 Euros. Hansen’s cash game exploits add one more chapter to what has been an interesting month for poker in the Czech Republic. King’s Casino, situated right on the Czech/German border recently hosted Partypoker’s MILLIONS Germany festival, in which several big buy-in tournaments were contested, with Dominik Nitsche and Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom both winning titles.

2014 WSOP Main Event runner-up Felix Stephensen ran particularly good in his recent trip to Australia for the Aussie Millions. Picking up a bracelet and $81,000 in event 19 after cruising to victory, he completed a profitable week, having already hammered the video poker machines in Crown Casino. His video poker session saw him pick up a tidy cash of $1,056,535 when he hit the Caribbean Stud Jackpot, which made fairly certain that his trip to Australia would turn out to be a profitable one.
Stephensen’s Aussie Millions cash sees his total tournament cashes move up to $5.9 million, and also sees him add an Aussie Millions bracelet to his trophy cabinet. If there was a ‘action junkie rungood’ trophy for 2018, he could certainly add that to his collection too.
