After 21 levels of play, Day 1A of the Mini Championship has concluded. The event features a $1,100 buy-in with a $250,000 guarantee and drew a total of 116 entries. By the end of the night, only 15 players remained, with Erik Rozhynskyi and Hao Yang Chen both topping the counts after bagging seven-figure stacks. Rozhynskyi finished with 1,346,000 chips, while Chen closely followed with 1,115,000.

Rozhynskyi enjoyed a commanding run throughout the day, highlighted by several key hands, including a crucial double against Toni Ravnak where his flush ran through a straight to scoop a huge pot. His aggressive approach paid off consistently, allowing him to maintain the chip lead for much of the day.

Hao Yang Chen

Chen also impressed with his fearless style, racking up chips through smart plays and well-timed aggression. He collected a massive pot in the mid-stages against Shixiang Khoo, securing his place above the million-chip mark and solidifying himself as a serious contender for the title. Close behind is Zin Myo Thant with 737,000, all finishing the day with strong stacks and ready to make their move on Day 2.

Bubble

The bubble ultimately burst when Sreekanth Narayanan shoved 26,000 from under the gun. Big blind Rozhynskyi made the call with 4♣ 4♦ , and Narayanan’s K♥ J♠ failed to connect with the board A♣ 7♠ 6♠ 5♠ Q♦ . Narayanan exited as the sole bubble of Day 1A, securing a spot in the money for the remaining players.

All players will return tomorrow, Saturday, February 7 at 11:30 am local time for Day 2 as they battle to be crowned champion. Levels will be 40 minutes each.

The tournament director gave Sweeney 30 seconds to act, but the clock ran out and Thant scooped the massive pot.

While collecting his chips, Sweeney jokingly said, “Show the bluff one time.” Thant gladly revealed his 4♦ 3♣ bluff, and the other players praised the gutsy move.

One of the most interesting hands of the day, this bluff catapulted Thant into the chip lead, shaking up the table dramatically.
