The flop is 2♠ 6♦ 9♠ as Nguyen checks. Freedman CBets to 16,000 and still gets called by her Vietnamese opponent. The turn is the A♣ and Nguyen checks again. The American now unleashes 80,000 as Nguyen folds, leaving only 26,000 in his stack. Freedman has now made her presence felt in her first Asian sortie.

The board shows K♦ 2♦ 6♠ J♥ with the river card about to be dealt and already 10,300 in the pot. Lithuania’s Aurimas Stanevicius checks his option from the utg+1 position while his opponent Nguyen Tuan Hung of Vietnam in the lowjack decides to check behind.

The river is the 4♦ as this time Stanevicius bets 7,600. Nguyen raises it to 21,000, forcing the Lithuanian to go into the tan and even use a time bank card. Stanevicius eventually decides to fold.
