Day 1d proved to be the biggest starting flight of the TLPT Jeju Circuits Main Event, drawing 274 entries and sending 42 players through to Day 2. Yi Yang finished on top of the counts after building a massive stack of 980,000, making him the overall chip leader heading into the next stage of the tournament.
Tao Lin sits close behind with 842,000, helped largely by winning the biggest pot of the Main Event so far after his pocket kings held against the ten-five suited of Zhihui Zhang.
Japan’s Kohei Takami rounded out the top three with 636,500 and was also responsible for bursting the bubble to bring play to a halt for the night. Several other familiar names also advanced, including Naoya Fujihisa (246,000), Yat Wei Cheng (148,000), Shyh Chyn Lim (85,000), and Chunguang Dong, who survived with just 4,000 chips, good for half a big blind.
The official prize pool and payout information will be announced shortly before play resumes, while the Day 2 schedule will be confirmed once cards are in the air.
