Hand 1:
Weijue Cai limped with 8♣ 7♦ from the small blind, and Wenqing Dong checked with Q♥ 4♦ from the big blind.
It went check-check on the 8♠ 5♠ A♣ flop, where Cai picked up a pair of eights.
An A♥ came on the turn, and Cai bet 250,000. Dong stuck around to see the 2♥ river. Cai fired 400,000, and Dong called to pay off Cai’s pair.
Hand 2:
Dong shoved from the small blind for 1,500,000 and Shuang Qiu called in the big blind.
Wenqing Dong: Q♦ 5♠
Shuang Qiu: K♠ 7♠
Qiu started well with king-high and extended his dominance on the T♣ 7♣ K♦ flop, leaving Dong drawing dead effectively before the 3♠ 5♣ runout.
Dong was left crippled with just 475,000 chips to continue his run after this hand.
Hand 3:
Dong moved all in for 475,000 on the button and Cai made the call from the big blind.
Weijue Cai: 8♥ 3♠
Wenqing Dong: Q♣ 2♥
Dong picked up the lead with queen-high, but Cai took it over on the 7♣ 7♥ 8♦ flop, connecting to his eight.
The dealer then turned the tide for Dong with a Q♠, and the 4♦ river locked up a much-needed double-up for Dong.
