Aaron Lim Leads the Charge in the Red Dragon Plus Championship

Day 3 of the Red Dragon Plus 2026 Championship has officially concluded, with the competition halting once six 90-minute levels were reached, with just 26 players bagging up their chips after an electrifying day of poker at LES A Casino Jeju, South Korea.

The day began with 85 players who had already locked up one share of the KRW 3,217,536,000 (~USD 2,193,111) prize pool, as the flagship event attracted a total turnout of 931 entries.

Ending at the top of the chip counts after more than eleven hours of intense play was Australia’s Aaron Lim, who amassed a towering stack of 6,300,000 in chips. Beginning from Day 1B, the Australian pro demonstrated the ability that a global elite acquires and captured the chip lead after the second opening flight of the main event. Boasting over $2.4 million in total live earnings and one WSOP title under his belt, Lim is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Starting Day 4 in second place will be China’s Lei Yu with 5,060,000 chips. Much like Lim, Yu also holds one WSOP title under his belt and has accumulated over $4.6 million in lifetime earnings. With two global elites sitting at the top of the leaderboard, the action of Day 4 promises to be even more electrifying.

Further down the leaderboard is Hungary’s poker pro Patrik Demus (3,560,000), who has over seven figures in lifetime earnings. With his experience, Demus will certainly be one of the players to watch on Day 4. More players to look out for include Christian Harder of the United States (3,420,000) and Hugues Girard of France (505,000).

Day 3 Action

In a massive pre-flop confrontation, Fangzhou Zhu used all his time bank cards before three-bet jamming from the small blind with pocket jacks, only to be snap-called by Qidong He, who woke up with pocket aces. The board ran out clean, allowing He's bullets to stay firmly in the lead against Zhu's hooks. The pot was shipped to He, while Zhu was forced to make his exit from the tournament floor early of the day.

A dramatic three-way all-in unfolded when Tingjia Cao committed nearly his entire stack from under the gun, only to be shoved over by Yilong Wang and Yinjie Mei. Cao held the dominant Big Slick to call off his last chips against the identical ace-jack of his opponents, but the jack on the flop proved disastrous, pairing both Wang and Mei’s jacks. Despite picking up a gutshot on the turn, the river bricked out, resulting in Cao’s elimination while Wang and Mei chopped the pot.

Tingjia Cao

Another chaotic three-way all-in saw Dinesh Alt commit almost all of his stack from middle position, only to be shoved over by Maodi Gao in the small blind and called by Yiming Li in the big blind. Alt called off his last chip and was initially in a dominant position with pocket threes against Gao’s ace-seven and Li’s ten-eight, but the flop was a total disaster for Alt, improving Gao to the lead with two pair. The turn left Alt hunting for a miracle three, but the river sealed his fate, resulting in Alt’s elimination and shipping a massive pot to Gao.

The day’s frontrunner, Ning Chu, maintained his momentum well; however, it stalled late at night when he collided with Jing Sun. Chu’s ace-jack suited ran headfirst into Sun’s pocket eights. With the board offering no help to Chu, he was chipped down by Sun’s crucial double-up. After this hand, Chu couldn’t regain his momentum and eventually hit the rail, exiting the field in 29th place.

A shoutout must also go to France's Rosalie Petit, with 855,000 chips, who is the last woman standing in this Championship event.

Day 4 of the tournament kicks off at 12 PM local time, and the blinds will be 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 big blind ante. Everyone has already secured a payout of KRW 17,150,000 (~$11,545) for their efforts, but all eyes are now on the bigger prizes. The goal for the day is to play down to the final table.

The river flipped the script for Li with a 6♦, completing his flush and forcing Hao to part with chips to his tablemate.
