Day 1A of the PokerStars LIVE Okada Manila Millions Main Event has wrapped up at Okada Manila, with 383 entries whittled down to 45 survivors, all guaranteed a cash and a spot in Day 2 on Saturday.

Leading the pack is Filipino pro Kim Enriquez with 651,000. A familiar face at Okada Manila, Enriquez has been a fixture at PokerStars LIVE events for years, having won events at Manila Super Series and going deep at APPT Manila 2025 before falling at the final table. He enters Day 2 as the player to beat thus far.

France's Victor Cherki bags in second with 518,000, while India's Acharya Anant rounds out the top three with 496,000.

Day 1A Action

The field filled up quickly once cards were in the air, with a strong mix of familiar faces and international players taking their seats throughout the day.

Enriquez was among the more active players at his table, building his stack steadily. In one key hand, he fired a big river bet on a threatening board after leading the turn, forcing a snap-fold from his opponent and raking in a healthy pot without a showdown.

Cherki provided one of the more entertaining moments of the day, pulling off a huge bluff for 108,000 into a 100,000 pot, only to have his opponent show one of his cards before his time ran out, resulting in a three-hand penalty from the floor in the process.

One of the more remarkable journeys of the day belonged to Paul Pak, who at one point was nursing just four big blinds. A timely shove, a chopped pot, and then flopping the nuts to secure a crucial double saw him climb all the way back to more than 30 big blinds in the space of a few hands.

Despite spinning that stack up to around 150,000 in the latter stages, he ends the night as the shortest stack in the field with 41,000, but will live to fight another day.

The Bubble

The bubble was a relatively brief affair. With Dakota Anderson as the field's short stack, his hopes of bagging took a blow when a possible elimination went the other way at another table first on the bubble, leaving him to be blinded into his final hand shortly after, with his four-deuce bested by Aj Cris Acdal's king-five.

During Anderson's hand another all-in confrontation was occurring at another table, with Anderson eliminated on Table 46 and Rowell Ama hitting the rail on Table 49 at the same time, where his queens fell to an opponent's kings.

With PokerStars LIVE rules requiring players to bag chips to secure a payout, both Anderson and Ama narrowly missed the minimum cash. All 45 remaining players are now in the money.

On the very next hand, two tables saw all-in and call action at the same time.

On Table 46, Dakota Anderson was already all in from the big blind. Early position Acdal Aj Cris limped, and three other players also joined the pot. On the flop K♦ Q♥ 2♠ , Cris bet 15,000, which was enough to get folds from the remaining players.

Cutoff Kim Enriquez was debating making the ~90,000-chip call after small blind Masaki Yoshitane had three-bet his 10,000 raise all-in. Enriquez, who had the covering stack, thought long and hard, burning a timebank in the process, before opting not to make the call.

The next hand saw hijack Enriquez raise to 6,000 and big blind Yoshitane made the call.

"Why couldn't you have gone all-in on this hand instead?" Enriquez asked.

Both players checked through the T♥ A♣ 8♥ Q♥ K♠ runout, with Enriquez tabling A♦ 9♠ for a pair of aces.

Had he got his wish, however, he'd be sitting on around eight big blinds, as Yoshitane's K♣ T♣ would have pipped him on the river.

In just a two-week span at APPT Manila 2025, Ong went from relative unknown to the talk of the Asian poker circuit, winning the PokerStars Red Dragon tournament before setting his sights on the APPT Manila Main Event.

Miyatake Comes Out on Top of Five-Way Pot

Robert Olson opened to 200 and received calls from almost all players at the table: cutoff Makoto Miyatake, button Terje Bratberg, plus blinds Subodh Pushkar and Paul Oliver, taking them five-ways to the flop.

The dealer fanned T♥ 3♠ Q♠ and both blinds checked, along with Olson, before Miyatake fired 300. Everyone except Pushkar put in

the call.

On the 8♥ turn, it was Oliver that led for 2,000, this time it was only Miyatake that stuck around, taking them heads-up to the river.

The dealer peeled off the J♠ and Oliver fired another 2,000. Miyatake thought for a moment and raised it to 7,000. Oliver looked a little sick before eventually paying it off, only for the Japanese player to turn over A♠ 5♠. Oliver looked a oddly relieved to see it was a flush, and not a straight.
