That’s a wrap on Day 1C of the Poker Dream Juju 16 Main Event here at the Poker Dream Jeju 16 Main Event hosted at Jeju Shinhwa Landing Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. The third of 11 starting flights attracted 130 entrants and by the end of the night just 20 players remained.

After nearly 14 levels Xu Jing emerged as the Day 1C chip leader, finishing the night with 460,000. Xu scored a flurry of knockouts late in the evening on his way towards bagging the largest stack. Xu is most closely followed by Hyunyeong Kang (381,000) while Xiangyu Yu rounds out the top three with 338,000.

Nine starting flights remain, with Day 1D currently underway and Day 1E starting tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. local time, with a buy-in of KRW 2,400,000 (~1,700 USD). Later that evening, Day 1F takes place, featuring a buy-in of KRW 1,600,000 (~USD 1,100).

Xian Xiao opened to 18,000 from under the gun and Lei Li defended from the big blind.

The flop came 2♦ 6♥ 5♣ and both players checked leading to the A♦ turn. Li checked, Xiao bet 5,000, Li check-raised to 18,000 and Xiao called.

Li bet 22,000 on the 4♣ river and this time Xiao opted to fold.

A player in the hijack opened to 7,000, Xian Xiao three-bet to 22,000 from the cutoff, Yuxin Cai shoved for 30,000 from the big blind, the hijack folded and Xiao called with a covering stack.

Cai was in bad shape against Xiao’s aces and found no improvement on the 3♠ T♣ K♥ 3♦ Q♦ runout, resulting in his elimination while Xiao claimed the last of his chips.

With two players seeing a board of T♦ 8♦ Q♣ and 11,400 in the middle, Xian Xiao checked from early position and Wei Li bet 3,000 from the cutoff. Xiao check-raised to 7,300 and Li called.

Xiao continued for 11,300 on the 2♥ turn and this time Li opted to fold.

Xian Xiao shoved for 1,200 from the small blind and Zhaoyi Lin called with a covering stack from the big blind.

The T♣ 2♦ J♥ 9♥ 7♣ runout gave Lin a straight to score the early knockout.

With two players seeing a board of J♦ 7♥ 6♣ and 1,900 in the middle Xiangchen Gao was all in for 30,500 from the big blind and up against Xian Xiao who covered him from the button.

The rest of the board ran out 9♥ J♥ giving Gao nines full of jacks to double through Xiao who was left with just seven big blinds.

Zhifan Ye opened to 300 from the small blind, Xian Xiao three-bet to 1,300 from the big blind and Ye called.

The flop came T♦ T♠ 2♣ and Ye check-folded to a 1,400 bet from Xiao.
