That’s a wrap on Day 1C of the Poker Dream Juju 16 Main Event here at the Poker Dream Jeju 16 Main Event hosted at Jeju Shinhwa Landing Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. The third of 11 starting flights attracted 130 entrants and by the end of the night just 20 players remained.

After nearly 14 levels Xu Jing emerged as the Day 1C chip leader, finishing the night with 460,000. Xu scored a flurry of knockouts late in the evening on his way towards bagging the largest stack. Xu is most closely followed by Hyunyeong Kang (381,000) while Xiangyu Yu rounds out the top three with 338,000.

Nine starting flights remain, with Day 1D currently underway and Day 1E starting tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. local time, with a buy-in of KRW 2,400,000 (~1,700 USD). Later that evening, Day 1F takes place, featuring a buy-in of KRW 1,600,000 (~USD 1,100).

Haitong Liu opened to 12,000 from the hijack, Anton Zhen Zhao Lu called from the small blind with his stack of 11,000 and a player in the big blind called.

The flop came 8♣ K♦ 9♥ and the big blind check-folded to a 15,000 bet from Liu.

Lu was drawing nearly dead against Liu’s top pair and after the 6♣ 3♣ runout he was eliminated on the stone bubble.

Xiaotong Yu shoved for 55,000 from the small blind and Haitong Liu called from the big blind with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Liu’s pocket sixes remained ahead on the 7♦ 8♥ T♣ 7♠ 3♥ runout to send Yu to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

Haoting Liu opened to 6,000 from the hijack and Po Lam Lun defended from the big blind.

The flop came 4♦ 6♣ 3♦ and Lun check-called a 6,000 bet from Liu.

Both players checked the 4♥ turn leading to the 9♠ river. Lun checked, Liu bet 12,000, Lun raised to 40,000 and Liu called.

Lun showed trips with A♦ 4♣ and Liu mucked.

With two players seeing a board of T♣ A♥ 9♣ and 7,200 in the middle Haoting Liu was all in for 25,600 from the small blind and up against Changmin Zhu who covered him from the hijack.

Liu had the best made hand with top pair while Zhu had an open-ended straight draw. The 2♥ 7♣ runout was clean for Liu and he doubled up.

With two players seeing a board of 2♦ 8♦ 3♥ and 33,500 in the middle Chung Lam Allan Kong shoved for 27,000 from under the gun and Haoting Liu snap-called from early position with a covering stack.

Liu was ahead with the bigger overpair but the 7♥ Q♥ runout gave Kong a set of queens to double up through Liu.

With two players seeing a board of 2♦ 5♣ 7♦ and 8,500 in the middle Haoting Liu bet 2,500 from the small blind and Changmin Zhu raised to 5,500 from early position. Liu made the call.

Liu check-called an 11,000 bet from Zhu on the 8♦ turn. On the A♥ river Liu checked, Zhu shoved for 19,300 and Liu folded.
