That’s a wrap on Day 1C of the Poker Dream Juju 16 Main Event here at the Poker Dream Jeju 16 Main Event hosted at Jeju Shinhwa Landing Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. The third of 11 starting flights attracted 130 entrants and by the end of the night just 20 players remained.

After nearly 14 levels Xu Jing emerged as the Day 1C chip leader, finishing the night with 460,000. Xu scored a flurry of knockouts late in the evening on his way towards bagging the largest stack. Xu is most closely followed by Hyunyeong Kang (381,000) while Xiangyu Yu rounds out the top three with 338,000.

Nine starting flights remain, with Day 1D currently underway and Day 1E starting tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. local time, with a buy-in of KRW 2,400,000 (~1,700 USD). Later that evening, Day 1F takes place, featuring a buy-in of KRW 1,600,000 (~USD 1,100).

Zhaoyi Lin opened to 6,000 from under the gun, Zehao Li three-bet to 18,000 from early position and Lin called.

The flop came 4♣ 3♠ Q♥ and Lin check-called a 12,000 bet from Li.

Li bet 55,000 when checked to on the 7♣ turn. Lin shoved for 87,000 and Li snap-called with a covering stack.

Zehao Li: A♦ 5♠

Lin was ahead with aces and faded Li’s gutshot on the K♠ river to double up.

Zhaoyi Lin opened to 4,000 from early position and received calls from Siyoung Lee in the cutoff and Zhongyao Li in the small blind.

The flop came 7♣ Q♦ A♦ and all three players checked leading to the J♣ turn. Li checked, Lin bet 6,000, Lee called, Li raised to 17,000, Lin called and Lee called.

On the 4♥ turn Li bet 29,500 and both opponents called again. Li showed a Broadway straight with Lc T♦ to win the pot.

With two players seeing a board of 4♠ Q♦ 6♦ T♠ and 28,200 in the middle Yifan Zhang checked from early position and Zhaoyi Lin shoved from the button. Zhang, who had 22,000 and was covered, made the call for his tournament life.

Yifan Zhang: Q♣ 8♣

Zhaoyi Lin: A♦ A♠

Zhang had top pair but was in bad shape against Lin’s aces. The T♠ K♦ runout changed nothing for either player and Lin took the pot while Zhang was sent to the rail.

With two players seeing a board of A♣ 3♣ J♦ and 2,500 in the middle Zhaoyi Lin checked from under the gun and Xiangchen Gao bet 800 from the button. Lin check-raised to 3,000 and Gao called.

Lin check-called a 3,000 bet from Gao on the 5♣ turn before both players checked the 5♦ river. Gao had top pair with A♦ Q♠ but Lin had two pair with A♠ J♠ to win the pot.

Xian Xiao shoved for 1,200 from the small blind and Zhaoyi Lin called with a covering stack from the big blind.

The T♣ 2♦ J♥ 9♥ 7♣ runout gave Lin a straight to score the early knockout.
