Main Event (1,600,000 KRW)

The first of 11 starting flights has concluded here at the Poker Dream Jeju 16 Main Event hosted at Jeju Shinhwa Landing Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. Day 1a attracted 71 entrants and by the end of the night just 9 players remained.

Changmin Zhu finished with the Day 1a chip lead after bagging 440,000 chips. Zhu is most closely followed by Biao Guo (270,000) while Sun Qi rounds out the top three with 247,000.

Day 1b is currently underway at the time of writing while two more starting flights are scheduled tomorrow. Day 1c starts at 1:00 p.m. local time with a buy-in of KRW 2,400,000 (~1,700 USD) and 40-minute levels. Later that evening at 7:00 p.m. Day 1d takes place, featuring the same structure as Flight A with 30 minute levels and a buy-in of KRW 1,600,000 (~USD 1,100).

Bin Leng opened to 9,000 from the hijack and received calls from Changmin Zhu in the cutoff and Quan Jin on the button.

The flop came Q♥ 3♠ 2♦ and action checked around to Zhu who bet 13,000. Both opponents called.

All three players checked the 6♠ turn leading to the K♠ river. Action checked around to Zhu who bet 40,000 and both opponents folded.

Seng Jo Mok shoved for 42,000 from under the gun and Quan Jin called from the cutoff with his stack of 29,000.

Mok was poised to score the knockout with a dominating ace but the 7♥ 6♦ 7♦ 6♣ 8♠ runout gave Jin two pair, eights and sevens to double up.

Quan Jin opened to 2,500 from the hijack and received two callers including Changmin Zhu on the button.

All three players checked the T♣ J♥ J♠ flop leading to the Q♣ turn. Action checked around to Jin who bet 7,500 and only Zhu called.

On the A♠ river Jin check-folded to a 30,000 bet from Zhu.

With two players seeing a board of 9♠ J♠ 2♠ and 10,800 in the middle, Michael Nicholas Ng yi wen bet 8,000 from the small blind and Quan Jin called from middle position.

Wen continued for 15,000 on the 8♥ turn and Jin called again. On the 3♠ river Wen bet 22,000, Jin shoved for 24,000 and Wen folded.

Chung Lam Allan Kong opened to 2,200 from early position and Quan Jin defended from the big blind.

The flop came K♥ 9♠ 4♥ and Jin check-called a 2,000 bet from Kong.

Jin check-called a 7,000 bet from Kong on the J♠ turn before both players checked the K♣ river. Quan showed a pair of nines with 9♥ 5♥ and Kong mucked.

Quan Jin opened to 1,000 from under the gun and received calls from Dong Hou on the button and Bin Zhao in the big blind.

The flop came J♥ 2♦ 2♣ and action checked around to Jin who fired a 1,100 continuation bet. Hou called, Zhao check-raised to 4,000, Jin folded and Hou called.

Zhao checked the K♦ river and Hou bet 4,500. Zhao check-raised to 10,000 and Hou folded.
