Main Event (1,600,000 KRW)

The first of 11 starting flights has concluded here at the Poker Dream Jeju 16 Main Event hosted at Jeju Shinhwa Landing Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. Day 1a attracted 71 entrants and by the end of the night just 9 players remained.

Changmin Zhu finished with the Day 1a chip lead after bagging 440,000 chips. Zhu is most closely followed by Biao Guo (270,000) while Sun Qi rounds out the top three with 247,000.

Day 1b is currently underway at the time of writing while two more starting flights are scheduled tomorrow. Day 1c starts at 1:00 p.m. local time with a buy-in of KRW 2,400,000 (~1,700 USD) and 40-minute levels. Later that evening at 7:00 p.m. Day 1d takes place, featuring the same structure as Flight A with 30 minute levels and a buy-in of KRW 1,600,000 (~USD 1,100).

With two players seeing a board of Q♠ T♠ 5♣ 8♠ and 59,000 in the middle Dingyon Zhang shoved for 25,000 from the big blind and Bin Leng snap-called from under the gun with a covering stack.

Leng remained ahead with his overpair versus Zhang’s top pair on the 8♠ 4♥ runout to send Zhang to the rail two spots shy of making the money.

Bin Leng opened to 9,000 from the hijack and received calls from Changmin Zhu in the cutoff and Quan Jin on the button.

The flop came Q♥ 3♠ 2♦ and action checked around to Zhu who bet 13,000. Both opponents called.

All three players checked the 6♠ turn leading to the K♠ river. Action checked around to Zhu who bet 40,000 and both opponents folded.

Seng Mok Jo opened to 8,000 from the small blind and Bin Leng defended from the big blind.

Both players checked the K♥ 7♠ qh flop leading to the J♥ turn. Jo bet 8,000 and Leng called.

On the 9♥ river Jo check-folded to a 26,000 bet from Leng.

Jiaxin Wang opened to 6,000 from the hijack, Qi Sun called from the cutoff and Bin Leng defended from the big blind.

The flop came 6♦ 9♣ 2♣ and action checked around to Wang who bet 10,000. Sun called, Leng check-raised to 28,000 and both of his opponents folded.

With two players seeing a board of 8♥ 2♠ 7♥ and 26,000 in the middle, Bin Leng bet 12,000 from the small blind and Dong Hou shoved for 39,000 from the cutoff. Leng called with a covering stack to put Hou at risk.

Hou was in great shape to double up with top two pair but the 6♥ Q♣ runout gave Leng top set to send Hou to the rail and win the pot.

Seng Mok Jo shoved for 23,000 from the button and Bin Leng called from the small blind with a covering stack to put Jo at risk.

The 3♥ 5♥ 4♣ 3♣ 7♥ runout gave Jo a full house to double through Leng.

Chung Lam Allan Kong opened to 4,000 from the hijack and received calls from a player on the button and Bin Leng in the big blind.

The flop came 3♣ K♣ 7♠ and Leng check-called a 5,500 bet from Kong.

Leng check-called another bet from Kong on the J♥ turn, this time for 9,000.

On the 4♠ river Leng checked, Kong bet 16,000 and Leng called. Kong immediately mucked and Leng took the pot without having to show his cards.

Seng Mok Jo raised to 5,000 from the small blind and Bin Leng defended from the big blind.

The flop came 3♣ 4♣ K♦ and Jo fired a 4,000 continuation bet that was called by Leng.

On the T♥ turn Jo check-folded to a 6,000 bet from Leng.

With two players seeing a board of Q♥ 4♠ 2♥ and 25,400 in the middle Bin Leng was all in from early position for his remaining stack of 5,200 and up against Tong Shen who covered him in the hijack.

Shen was ahead with a pair of eighs but the 9♥ T♠ runout gave Leng a bigger pair to double up.

Erdun Xu opened to 1,700 from the cutoff and Bin Leng called from the big blind.

The flop came 8♠ 7♥ 4♥ and Leng check-called a 1,600 bet from Xu.

Leng led out with a 6,000 bet on the 8♣ turn and Xu called. On the 9♥ river Leng bet 17,000, Xu shoved for 33,200 and Leng called with a covering stack.

Leng had trips with K♥ 8♥ but Xu had a full house with 7♣ 7♠ to secure the double up.

In a preflop confrontation Qi Sun was all in for 17,600 from the hijack and up against Bin Leng who had him covered from the cutoff.

The T♠ 3♥ 3♠ 2♠ A♠ runout gave Sun two pair, aces and threes to double through Leng.

With two players seeing a board of K♥ 6♦ K♦ 4♥ and 4,900 in the middle Qi sun checked from the small blind and Bin Leng bet 2,800 from the big blind. Sun check-raised to 7,300 and Leng called.

Sun bet 10,500 on the 2♥ river and Leng called again. Sun showed two pair, kings and sixes with 6♥ 5♣ but Leng had a higher kicker with 7♣ 6♣ to win the pot.
