It was a patient grind to the top for Phan who was down to 9 bb at 7 handed. After numerous uncalled shoves and three players dropping out, Phan earned his first double up against Adrian Chua with A♦ 9♠ spiking the ace on the river to dust 9♥ 9♣ .

At three-handed, Phan grinded to the top then won a big pot against Chua who then fell to Liu Tianyou. Heads up was quick with Phan eliminating Liu in just two hands. The final hand was Phan Q♥ J♦ , Liu 7♣ 7♦ , the board was 8♥ A♦ 8♦ J♠ 4♠ .
