The King Poker Cup continued its momentum in the Les A Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World Resort, Jeju, South Korea, with yet another premium poker event.

The Sovereign 50K framed itself as a high roller event with the second biggest buy-in of the series pegged at USD 50,000. The event attracted a total of 73 entries and produced a total prize pool of USD 3,416,400.

The Day 1a flight played down to the top 23 survivors, who had to return to the Day 2 final and compete for 11 ITM slots, who would earn at least USD 100,700 with the champion taking home a lion's share of USD 1,006,000.

The top 23 survivors were led by China's Mingcong Chen as the chip leader with 1,785,000, followed closely by KPC Unknown 1 with 1,760,000 and Paulius Paulinaitis with 1,225,000.

Despite the chip lead, these players failed to make it in the top 11 payout circle, busting out early on the Day 2 final. Other big names who failed to make it in the money were the likes of Jesse Lonis, Tom Dwan, Danny Tang, Biao Ding and Wai Kiat Lee.

It took three 40-minute levels on Day 2 before the bubble burst on Lei Yu. Yu committed all his chips with A♦ 4♦ only to run into the pocket kings of Feixang Ruan.

An hour after, Gytis Lazauninkas of Lithuania would fall in 10th place to set up the final table of 9 players.

THE FINAL TABLE

Feixiang Ruan of China entered the final table as the chip leader with 3,390,000 chips followed by Xuan Tan with 2,895,000 and Daniel Neilson with 2,745,000.

Malaysia's Sean Ooi started the final table at the very bottom with 765,000 but found a double up on the first hand of the final table when his pocket jacks kept ahead against the suited ace-queen of Xuan Tan.

The chip lead at the final table changed hands several times between Sean Ooi, Feixiang Ruan and Daniel Neilson.

It took nearly an hour before the first elimination when Japan's Ryuta Nakai ran his pocket tens into the kings of Feixiang Ruan.

Zuo Wang of China fell next when he committed his short stack with king-ten suited and failed to improve against the suited ace-queen of compatriot Jun Wang.

Punnat Punsri was doing well on the final table, but got crippled in a hand against Neilson. Punsri ultimately called off his stack with a suited ace-seven only to be dominated by the ace-nine of Sean Ooi.

China's Xing finished at 6th place in the level after. Xing was short stacked and made his move with a hearted king-six, but was outdrawn on the river by the queen-jack of Ruan.

Fifth place finisher Jun Wang made his stand with a diamond king-nine, but couldn't make it past the ace-ten of Neilson.

Four-handed play saw several chip lead exchanges until Neilson started to break away with the chip lead. Neilson pushed around his stack and Feixiang Ruan succumbed to the pressure, committing his ace-seven against the ace-nine of Neilson.

With a huge chip advantage, Neilson applied constant pressure on the shorter stacks of his last two opponents.

THE HEADS UP BATTLE

Sean Ooi managed a double up, but the huge chip advantage of Daniel Neilson became hard to overcome.

Eventually, Ooi made a river shove only to be easily snap-called by Neilson, who held a king-high flush to secure the victory in just a few hands of heads up battle.

Ooi's remarkable journey ended in a runner-up finish for USD 671,700 and boosted his total live winnings to over USD 3 million.

Meanwhile, Neilson's USD 1,006,000 haul became his career-best cash and catapulted his total live earnings to over USD 7 million.

Australia's Daniel Neilson eliminated Malaysia's Sean Ooi in the final heads up battle to lift the Sovereign 50K trophy and claim the top prize of USD 1,006,000.

Neilson had a five-to-one advantage entering the heads up battle and did not relinquish the lead.

In the end, all he had to do was call with a king-high flush when Ooi shoved all in.

The victory is career-best cash for Neilson and propels his total live earnings to over USD 7 million.

It is still a good result for Sean Ooi, who won the Single Day Super High Roller a few days ago and then came in second in this event.

Neilson gave Ooi a hug, then grabbed the trophy immediately to do a celebratory dance.

The King Poker Cup series continues in the Les A Casino at the Jeju Shinhwa World Resort with one of the more prestigious events of the series playing its final day today.

The Sovereign 50K had the second largest buy-in of the series at USD 50,000 and attracted a total of 73 entries to generate a total prize pool of USD 3,416,400. There were 23 survivors from Day 1, who advanced to today's Day 2 final where 12 more eliminations will be needed before the top 11 will be in the money and earn at least USD 100,700.
