Rivered Magic for Yen Against Lin

Level 5: 200 / 500 ante: 500

Hao Chiu Yen raised from middle position to 1,200 and Herng Chang Lin defended in the big blind.

After a flop ran out 3 K T , Lin checked it to Yen who continued for 1,000. Lin tagged along.

Both players checked through the A turn to see the board-pairing K hit on the river, where Lin checked and Yen sent another bet of 2,500. Lin called.

Yen turned over a rivered flush with T 8 to collect the pot while Lin mucked his cards.

Tsao's Boat Doubles

Level 4: 200 / 400 ante: 400

There was around 8,500 in the pot and a flop that showed 2 9 9

Big blind Shan Tsao checked his option to Chang Lin, who bet out 3,500. Button Chiu Yen raised it to 7,000. Tsao called and Lin left the two players to see a 2 on the turn.

Tsao moved all-in for his last 11,900 and Yen thought a while before finally throwing in a chip for the call.

Tsao flipped over A 9 for a fullhouse while Yen showed K K and needed a king on the river to win the pot. However, the 5 was a brick and Tsao doubled up.

Worldwide Representation

Level 1: 100 / 100 ante: 100

117 seats have been filled so far in the first flight of the APT Taipei 2025 Main Event with more expected to follow while registration is still open.

It really is becoming an international spectacle with so many countries represented. We have the likes of Sergeev Aleksander from Russia, Tsz Chan from Hong Kong, Eugene Chen frmo Singapore, Nicolas Burgevin from France, Minh Dao from Vietnam, Killian Wolfgang Eisend from Germany, Kaito Hirai frmo Japan, Ran Ilani from Israel, Paul Hong from New Zealand, Ho Lam Ji from Malaysia, Gang Kapil from India, Wai Cheng Keong from Macau, Juhwan Kim from South Korea, Matthew Ledger from the UK, David Van Noy Jr. from the USA, ALbert Nguyen from Canada and of course the local Taiwanese also heavily represented.

We have yet to wait for the Australians and the Philippine contingent to make their presence felt.

But certainly, the Main Event is turning out to be an international affair as can be expected.

A Boat Gives Yen A Hot Start

Level 1: 100 / 100 ante: 100

Hao Chiu Yen and Minh Dao were looking at a board of T A 7 9 A with around 16,000 in the pot. Yen checked his option over to Dao who fired 11,600. After much consideration, Yen made the call and immediately Yen mucked his hand.

Dao flipped over 7 7 to show a boat and explained that he couldn't call right away because he was concerned that there might be a better full house.

No slow roll here.
