Nguyen Wins Big From Chen

Level 7: 400 / 800 ante: 800

Albert Nguyen raised from under the gun to 1,600 and Hong Yu Chen called on the button for both players to enter a flop of 6 9 K

Nguyen continued with a 1,700 bet which was called by Chen to show a T on the turn.

Nguyen checked, allowing Chen to bet 4,200. Nguyen then raised it to 13,800 but threw in three 5,000 chips.

Chen and the dealer were a bit lost in translation as to how much the bet was, so Joris Michl laid it out in chip terms, laying out his chips to show how much.

With that problem solved - Chen called to show a 7 on the river.

Nguyen moved all-in for 33,800 and Chen made the call.

Nguyen showed Q J for straight while Chen showed Q 8 for a lower straight.

Worldwide Representation

Level 1: 100 / 100 ante: 100

117 seats have been filled so far in the first flight of the APT Taipei 2025 Main Event with more expected to follow while registration is still open.

It really is becoming an international spectacle with so many countries represented. We have the likes of Sergeev Aleksander from Russia, Tsz Chan from Hong Kong, Eugene Chen frmo Singapore, Nicolas Burgevin from France, Minh Dao from Vietnam, Killian Wolfgang Eisend from Germany, Kaito Hirai frmo Japan, Ran Ilani from Israel, Paul Hong from New Zealand, Ho Lam Ji from Malaysia, Gang Kapil from India, Wai Cheng Keong from Macau, Juhwan Kim from South Korea, Matthew Ledger from the UK, David Van Noy Jr. from the USA, ALbert Nguyen from Canada and of course the local Taiwanese also heavily represented.

We have yet to wait for the Australians and the Philippine contingent to make their presence felt.

But certainly, the Main Event is turning out to be an international affair as can be expected.
