Peng Zhou On Top of the Pile Heading into Day 4 Of APT Jeju Main Event

Day 3 of 2025 APT Jeju Main Event, the largest international poker tournament ever to play out in Korea, is a wrap. The 246 players who took their seats at the start of the day have now been whittled down to just 48.
All remaining players are guaranteed a minimum pay-out of KRW 10,460,000 (~$7,470) but all will be eyeing up the first-place prize of KRW 649,835,200 (~$464,170).

It was China’s Peng Zhou who finished Day 3 with a massive 4,460,000 chips. Hot on Zhou’s heels is his compatriot Shuang Qiu with 4,010,000 and making it a Chinese podium clean sweep is Danqiu Chen in third spot with 2,765,000 in chips.
Zhou has just over USD 100,000 in lifetime earnings, including two APT cashes and is hunting down his first major title. He is already guaranteed his second largest cash of his career.
Qiu and Chen are guaranteed their largest ever live cashes and looking to make the first major final table of their poker careers.
Also sitting in the top ten and not too far behind the leaders is Erik Rozhynskyi (2,110,000). Rozhynskyi has just under USD 500,000 in lifetime earnings and holds numerous WSOPC Circuit and WPT Side Event titles.

Other Notable Players Bagging Up
The two remaining ladies standing in the event both sit in the top ten. Lili Tang is in fourth with 2,655,000 and Yu Han Su is close behind in sixth with 2,290,000. Tang will be looking to add to her Jeju APT Mystery Bounty title and Su will be looking to better her cash in Event #25: Woman’s Event.

The Czech Republic’s Roman Hrabec who has nearly USD 13,000,000 in live earnings is sitting pretty with 1,470,000 and will be looking to make yet another Asian tour final table.
WSOP Ring Holder, British player Guy Taylor, made it through the day in 38th place with 660,000 in chips.
The ever smiling, Singapore’s Abraham Ceesvin, who was APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 Main Event runner up is getting ever closer to his fourth APT Main Event final table and sitting in 31st place with 960,000 in chips.
2024 APT Taipei Poker Classic Single Day High Roller Champion, Australia’s Yita Choong, will be looking for his second APT title and to take his lifetime earnings across the USD 3,000,000 mark.

The only WSOP bracelet holder left in the field Cypriot Georgios Skarparis is sitting just outside the top ten in 16th spot with 1,515,000 in chips.
APT High Roller Champions Germany’s Martin Sedlak (2024 Taipei Poker Classic) and Thailand’s Thanisorn Saelor (2023 Incheon) are sitting in the top thirty tied on exactly 1,005,000 each in chips.

Start-of-day overall chip leader China’s Jianfeng Sun (745,000) has made it through to Day 4 along with the Day 2 live chip leader Taiwan’s Hsiang Huang (2,070,000) who has squeaked into the top ten.

Action folded to Xian Xiao on the button who moved all in for 340,000. Hsiang Huang made the call from the small blind and Tian Wang folded from the big blind.

Rozhynskyi Claims a Pot Near Day's End
On a pot of around 250,000, Yayun Liu check-called Erik Rozhynskyi's bet of 55,000 on a flop of T♣ K♥ 3♠
The turn 3♥ fell and Liu led with 75,000 to be called by Rozhynskyi to see the last street.
Liu checked the river J♠ triggering Rozhynskyi to bet 135,000.
Liu looked at the clock as there were 49 players left and decided to muck his hand.

Nice Hand Sir

Joshua McCully raised to 80,000 from the cut off only to face a three-bet from Erik Rozhynskyi in the big blind to 260,000. McCully let the clock run down and made the call.
The flop came J♥ 5♣ 7♥ and Rozhynskyi continued for 145,000. McCully made the call and the dealer peeled off the 3♥ as the turn.
McCully now decided to lead out for 115,000 and after letting the clock hit one second Rozhynskyi made the call.
The 9♥ came on the river and again Rozhynskyi let the clock hit one second but now knuckled the table as did McCully again after the clock was hitting the zero mark.
McCully's cards went straight into the muck on seeing Rozhynskyi table the K♥ 6♠ for the second nut flush with a complement of "Nice Hand".

Zhang Forces the Best Hand to Fold
On the feature table:
Thanisorn Saelor raised to 60,000 under the gun holding K♣ Q♥ and got called by big blind Hao Zhang with T♠ 8♦ leading them to the flop.
After action was passed to him on the 7♦ T♥ K♥ flop, Saelor, who hit top pair, bet 80,000. Zhang, who caught mid-pair called.
The turn J♦ fell and after another check from Zhang, Saelor kept the pressure with a 160,000 bet. Hao replied with an all-in for 440,000. With 635,000 behind, Saelor took his time to consider his options throwing a time bank in. He ultimately folded surrendering the pot to Zhang.

Three-bet, Four-bet, Five-bet, Fold
Shuang Qui opened to 60,000 and was three-bet to 150,000 by Nan Chen. Qui four-bet 350,000 prompting Chen to burn a time card.
Nearing the end of his time, Chen five-bet to 560,000. It was Qui's turn to burn a time bank. On the very last second, Qui five-bet shoved all in for 2,095,000.
Chen tapped the table and folded his hand, conceding the pot to Qui.

Unforgettable Wang
Georgios Skarparis bet 80,000 on a flop of J♦ 5♥ 3♣ with a pot of around 300,000 and got called by Roman Hrabec in the big blind.
After collecting the chips, the dealer was about to deal the turn when Tian Yu Wang, who was still in the hand and somehow forgotten because of how quiet and unmoving he was, made a noise to stop the dealer.
The dealer returned the bet and call in place and waited for Wang to do his action. Wang raised to 200,000 which made Skarparis look slightly disappointed as he folded his hand. Hrabec, a bit disappointed, mucked his hand as well.

With so many possibilities with a trippy, boaty, straighty board, both players, visible tense and focused on the board, checked the river Q♠.
Chen, holding A♦ 3♦ leaned back on his chair while Evegeniie with A♠ 9♠ made a small sigh of relief when the dealer started dividing the pot in two for a chop.

Ting Yu opened to 50,000 under the gun and when action folded to the small blind, Alexander Lyan, he placed forward all his 9 time bank for the dealer to pick from.
A♠ time passed, players started getting on their feet stretching and others started chatting with players on other tables. Big blind TaiMin Tian was initially looking at Lyan trying to get a read, but with more time passing was visibly bemused probably wondering why we are all here and when will this all end.
Finally after the last time card was used, everyone snapped back to reality as Lyan announced all-in. Tian who had lost interest in the hand and folded. Initial raiser Yu, who couldn't stand up or look at his phone because he was in the hand, snap-called.

Peng Sent to the Rail by Evgenii

Skarparis Picks Up a Monster

Georgios Skarparis raised to 50,000 from the cut off and found a call from Yita Choong on the button and Yang Haiyang in the big blind.
The flop came Q♦ 5♦ J♠ and Haiyang checked it to Skarparis who fired out a continuation bet of 85,000. Choong got out of the way and Haiyang made the call.
The turn brought the 2♠ and again Haiyang checked to Skarparis who now ramped it up and bet out for 170,000. Haiyang made the call.
The dealer peeled off the Q♠ for the river and again Haiyang checked it over to Skarparis who went into the tank before betting out for 110,000 now.
Haiyang now went deep into the tank, using two time banks before making the call and tabling 4♦ 2♦.
His hand was streaks behind Skarparis who had Q♣ T♥ with rivered trips and he was shipped the 800,000 pot.

Schmidt Puts the Pressure On

Liu Hits and Runs Yu Off the Felt
Ziwen Liu had just been moved to Table #7 as the big blind and hasn't even taken his chips our of the tray when he called Chenxin Yu's all-in shove from middle position for 82,000.
Liu went to showdown putting Yu's life at risk as the players were surprised and amused with how eager Liu got into the action.

An audible gasp was heard when Liu tabled his hand and all Yu could do was get on his feet, smile and get ready to leave.
The flop came K♠ Q♦ T♠ giving Liu no sweat at all. He looked at Yu, sheepishly and Yu smiled looking resigned. He waited for the runout K♦ and T♦ to be dealt which gave Liu the higher to two-pair, sealing his fate to be eliminated from the tournament.
Battle of the Blinds: Schmidt Under Full Sail

With action folded around, small blind Fabian Schmidt announced all-in for 210,000 and Kai Chen in the big blind called, putting Schmidt at risk.

Chen Capitalizes on Stack Advantage
Denghao Chen opened on the cutoff with a 32,000 bet to be raised by Bei Shi to 80,000. Chen called to see a flop.
The dealer fanned out: 2♠ K♠ 6♦.
Chen check-called Shi's 65,000 bet leading them to the turn.
On the turn 9♠, Chen shoved all in for 930,000, visibly frustrating Shi, who jammed all his time banks in for the dealer to pick from. But after just one time bank, Shi folded, deciding to pick his battles on his own terms.

Wang Folds Under Pressure
Yucheng Wang opened to 32,000 in early position and got called by Denghao Chen on the button.
The flop dropped: K♥ J♦ 5♦ and Wang continued with 50,000. Chen called once again.
With the board paired on the turn J♣, Wang slowed down with a check. Chen took control and fired out 85,000 which made Wang consider his options. With only 280,000 behind, he burned two time banks, needing more time. He finally called to see the last street.
With another check, Chen put in 150,000 which got an immediate fold from Wang on the river 6♦.

Ho Makes Waves, Huang Left Drowning
With over 200,000 in the pot the board read: Q♠ J♥ 3♦ 4♦ and Ming Huang had checked it over to Poseidon Ho on the button, who bet out for 75,000. Huang went into the tank and made the call.
The river brought the 9♥ and Huang checked again. Ho moved all in for his remaining 125,000. Huang thought for a short while before mucking his cards to send the chunky pot to Ho with no showdown.

Day 3 of the KRW 2.6M (~USD 1,860) 2025 APT Jeju Main Event kicks off today at 11:15 AM at Les A Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea.
Registration closed at the end of Level 11 yesterday with a total of 1,693 entries (905 unique). This marks the largest international tournament and richest APT Main Event ever held in Korea, generating a prize pool of KRW 3,761,155,200 (~USD 2,686,540). It also stands as the third-richest APT Main Event in history.
Day 2 saw 195 new entries join 516 returning players, all chasing a seat for today. By the end of play, only 247 advanced, each guaranteed KRW 4,020,000 (~USD 2,870).
For pro Kitty Kuo, the run ended in heartbreak as she was eliminated on the bubble. On the flip side, Adalsteinn Karlsson became the first player to qualify for Day 3 OnLive via Natural8. He also bagged 501,000 chips live in Day 2, giving him another shot to go deep.
