APT Main Event (2,600,000 KRW)

APT Jeju 2025 is on its final stretch in the Landing Casino of Jeju Shinwaworld Resort, Jeju, South Korea. Running from September 26 to October 5, the festival has broken records in many aspects of APT history and even Korean poker history.

The crown jewel APT Jeju 2025 Main Event added to the record books as well, being the largest ever international poker event ever held in Korea, bringing in 1,693 entries and generating a KRW 3,803,155,200 (~USD 2,716,540) prize pool- the second richest main event prize pool in APT history behind APT Taipei 2025.

Earning the title of APT Jeju 2025 Main Event champion was Abraham Ceesvin of Singapore, who own the 24-K APT Gold Lion Trophy, a seat to the APT Championship Main Event worth USD 10,000 and an astounding champion's purse worth KRW 649,835,200 (~USD 464,170).

Ceesvin was the runner-up of the APT Taipei Classic 2024 Main Event and has since longed to redeem that bitter shortcoming. Finally, it has come true for Ceesvin, who declared after his unbelievable win - "This is madness!"

The Road To The Championship

Four Day 1 flights found 516 survivors returning for poker competition on Day 2 with only 247 places booking a spot in the payout circle along with 243 other on-live qualifiers.

The bubble burst on Day 2 when Natural8 Ambassador Kitty Kuo risked her tournament life with pocket nines, but failed to win a flip against the Peng Zhou's king-queen.

On Day 3, the field was reduced to the remaining 48 players who returned on Day 4 to fight for higher places up the payout ladder and ultimately earn a seat at the Main Event final table, where the more serious money would be awarded.

Entering the final table as the chip leader was Hao Zhang of China with 16,375,000 chips followed by compatriots Yayun Liu with 10,180,000 and Shuang Qui with 10,040,000.

Ceesvin started the final table in the 7th spot but managed to get a crucial double-up when he eliminated Zhou Peng in a lucky manner. Peng had hit two-pair and Ceesvin was actually behind with his pocket aces and looked like he might be the first casualty. The board, however, paired him on the river and moved him up the rankings, saving him from elimination.

Ceesvin then went on to eliminate Yita Choong of Australia to even climb higher up to the top of the leaderboard. Choong risked his remaining chips with ace-four suited but was outdrawn by the king-jack of Ceesvin, who flopped a jack and went on to win it.

Ceesvin was also responsible for taking out Li Bizhen in 7th place. Bizhen's pocket nines landed a set on the flop, but Ceesvin managed a runner-runner to give his ace-four suited the nut flush.

Yang Haiyang risked his short-stack with king-four and was called down by Yayun Liu and Shuang Qiu . A check all the way to the river saw Liu's king-collect the last of Haiyang's chips, showing him the exit in 6th place.

Yayun Liu's run ended in 5th place. First, he was crippled by Lili Tang, when Tang's king-ten shove was able to crack the ace-queen of Liu.

Ceesvin then collected the last of the crumbs when Liu shoved with jack-four on the small blind and Ceesvin - on the big blind - didn't have to add much when he called with eight-deuce. Unfortunately, for Liu, Cessvin hit the eight and sent Liu out in 5th place.

Shuang Qiu then ended the run of start-of-day chip leader Hao Zhang in fourth place when Zhang pushed all-in on trip sevens only to run into the nut flush of Qiu.

Three-handed play saw Ceesvin pull away as the chip leader.

Eventually, Qiu was the next to bow out in 3rd place at the hands of Lili Tang. Qiu mis-timed an all-in shove on the flop with just a draw. Tang made the confident call with top pair and went on to send Qiu to the rail and set up a heads up with Ceesvin.

Ceesvin had a more than two-to-one chip advantage against Tang, holding 55 million against the 22 million of Tang.

The heads-up battle lasted only 4 hands.

Ceesvin flopped a three-to-seven straight when Lili Tang moved all-in with pocket queens on the low board. Ceesvin held on to finally be crowned an APT Main Event Champion - something that most players and most people recognize as "very well-deserved."

The J♠ 9♣ J♦ flop was bet by Ceesvin to 1,000,000 after Tang checked.

Tang gave up her hand, passing more Ceesvin's way.

Hand #144: Tang woke up with pocket queens Q♥ Q♣ for the second time heads up and raised to 1,300,000. Ceesvin defended with 7♣ 5♦.

Ceesvin flopped the straight after seeing the 6♠ 3♥ 4♥ being fanned across the table.

Ceesvin checked, Tang bet 2,000,000 and Ceesvin raised to 4,000,000.

Tang peeled her cards and checked her hand before moving all in.

There was no way for Tang to improve after the A♦ was turned, and Ceesvin was stood from the table and celebrating the win with friends as the dealer placed the 2♣.

Tang took home an APT Championship Main Event ticket as well as the second place payout.

Hand #141: Abraham Ceesvin limped with 6♦ 2♣ from the small blind and Lili Tang looked down at pocket queens Q♠ Q♦ in the big blind.

Tang raised to 3,000,000 and took the pot after Ceesvin made a quick fold.

Hand #142: Tang raised Q♣ J♥ to 1,800,000 and Ceesvin three-bet K♠ Q♦ to 5,800,000.

The option was on Tang and she called.

The K♦ J♦ 7♠ flop was both pick up a pair, with Tang still behind.

A 3,500,000 bet by Ceesvin was called by Tang, and the pair were taken to the 9♦ turn.

Ceesvin shoved on Tang, and she picked up a few chips off her stack but placed them back down before mucking her hand.

Hand # 139: Shuang Qiu opened to 1,200,000 on the button with K♦ 4♥ and Abraham Ceesvin jammed the big blind with A♦ 7♥.

Qiu quickly mucked.

Hand # 140: Lili Tang raised to 1,200,000 with T♥ 8♥ on the button and Qiu called J♣ 9♣ from the big blind.

The T♦ 6♣ 7♠ flop gave both something to work with and Qiu check-jammed his remaining 8,000,000 stack after Tang bet 1,000,000.

Tang snap called, having hit top pair as well as picking up a straight draw, and she had Qiu covered.

The A♠ turn didn't help Qiu and the Q♠ river sealed his fate.

Qiu took home an impressive third place win, and also secured himself a ticket to the APT Championship Main Event in Taipei next month.

The 8♥ 5♣ 3♦ flop was quickly checked by both to the 7♠ turn.

Tang bet out 1,300,000 and Ceesvin called.

The pair were taken to the 3♠ river.

Tang checks and hands the pot to Ceesvin.

Check-check brought a 3♠ on the turn.

Ceesvin tapped then folded when Qiu pushed 1,000,000.

Tang check-called the 1,600,000 bet of Ceesvin to show a 7♦ turn.

Both checked to get a 4♠ on the river.

Qiu pushed 1,200,000 forward and Tang folded.

Hand #130: Lili Tang picked up pocket queens and limped from the small blind.

Abraham Ceesvin raised to 1,800,000 from the big blind and was sitting with A♦ 6♠.

Tang three-bet to 5,100,000 and Ceesvin mucked, allowing Tang to regain some chips.

Hand #126: Abraham Ceesvin opened Q♦ T♠ on the button to 1,300,000. Lili Tang sat with T♣ 8♠ in the big blind and called.

The 6♦ A♣ 5♦ flop was checked by Tang, and she folded after Ceesvin bet 800,000.

Hand #127: The pair went heads up again when Tang limped the small blind with J♦ 7♠ and Ceesvin checked the big blind with 9♦ 5♦.

The 2♦ T♥ 3♦ flop saw Ceesvin pick up a diamond flush draw and called a 600,000 c-bet by Tang.

A K♠ turn saw Tang bet 1,500,000 and Ceesvin paid to see the K♣ river.

Tang took the pot after they both checked to showdown.

Hand #128: Ceesvin stole the big blind from Shuang Qiu after raising K♥ 4♦ from the small blind.

Hand #129: Qiu limped 8♦ 3♦ from the small blind and Tang checked with K♠ 9♦.

The 8♥ T♥ 6♥ flop gave Qiu a pair of eights and Tang a straight draw.

Action was quickly checked through the 7♣ turn and 8♣ river.

Qiu picked up trips, but Tang was sitting with the straight.

Hand #122: Abraham Ceesvin raised to 1,800,000 on the small blind and Qiu defended the big.

Both tapped for 4♣ on the turn. Both checked again to see a 7♠ river.

Both tapped again and Ceesvin turned over 9♥ 9♣ to win the pot.

Hand #123: Ceesvin opened for 1,300,000 on the button and won the blinds.

Hand #124: Qiu raised the minimum on the buttona nd Ceesvin shoved all-in on his big blind. Qiu went away.

Hand #125: Ceesvin raised 1,800,000 on the small blind and scooped the blinds.

Hand #118: Lili Tang limped Q♦ 7♣ in the small blind and Abraham Ceesvin raised to 1,500,000 K♠ J♦ in the big blind.

Tang re-raised to 3,500,000 and Ceesvin called.

The 5♥ T♠ Q♥ flop was continued by Tang for 2,500,000. Tang saw Ceesvin call.

A 8♥ was turned and Tang took some time before checking. Ceesvin checked behind, taking them to the K♣ river.

The action was checked to showdown and Ceesvin took the pot, separating the chip counts.

Hand #119: Abraham Ceesvin raised to 1,600,000 in the small blind with K♣ 7♥ and saw Qiu fold the big blind.

Hand #120: Shang Qiu limped with 5♦ 2♦ from the small blind and Tang checked his J♥ 3♠ hand in the big blind.

The A♥ A♦ J♣ flop brought Tang two pair. Qiu bet 600,000 and Tang called.

Both checked after seeing the Q♥ turn and the K♥ river prompted Qiu to bet 1,200,000.

Tang quickly called, taking down another pot.

Hand #111: Abraham Ceesvin opened for 1,000,000 from under the gun. Small blind Shuag Qiu chimed in.

Flop opened 6♠ 2♥ 7♠

Qiu tapped to Ceesvin who put in 1,500,000 across the bettlng line.

Qiu surrendered.

Hand #113: Lili Tang raised to 1,000,000 on the button.

Qiu three-bet to 3,000,000 on his big blind and got Tang to fold.

Hand #114: Ceesvin raised to 1,100,00 on the button. Qiu three bet to 3,300,000 on the small blind and found no more challengers.

Hand #115: Qiu raised to 1,000,000 on the button. Tang three-bet to 4,400,000 on the small blind.

Qiu showed an ace as he mucked. Tang also pulled out her own ace to show.

Hand #116: Tang opened on the button for 1,000,000 and Qiu defended the big blind.

A flop came 6♠ 7♣ 5♠

Qiu led out for 1,000,000 and Tang laid down.

Hand #117: Ceesvin raised to 1,100,000 on the button and Tang defended her big blind.

Flop came 3♥ 7♣ A♠

Tang tapped and Ceesvin fired 700,000 to scoop the pot.

Hand #109: Shuang Qiu opened A♠ 5♦ to 1,000,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Hao Zhang with A♦ 7♦ in the big blind. Zhang called.

The 5♠ 7♠ K♠ flop saw Zhang make a quick check and Qiu bet 750,000.

Zhang paid to see the 6♠ turn and Zhang checked again, with Qiu checking behind. Qiu had Zhang beat with the nut flush.

A 7♣ came on the river, giving Zhang trip sevens. He bet 750,000 but Qiu was going nowhere, and he raised to 3,300,000.

Zhang took a while before jamming for 11,000,000. Qiu calmly checked his cards and sat back to contemplate his decision. He would be all in for his remaining 5,000,000 if he called.

Qiu moved in a stack, making the right call, and moved up to second in chips. Zhang was left with around five big blinds after the hand.

Hand #110: Lili Tang opened to 1,000,000 from under the gun with 4♠ 4♥ and action folded around to Hao Zhang in the small blind who had been dealt A♥ J♦.

Zhang moved all in for 2,800,000 and Tang snap called.

Zhang stood from the table to watch the run out.

There was very little sweat on the 2♥ 3♠ K♥ 8♠ 5♦ runout and Zhang was eliminated in 4th place after a brutal final two hands.

The 4♥ 7♥ A♠ flop was checked by both to see the 3♥ turn.

Zhang checked, Qiu paused before checking behind.

A K♥ river prompted a 1,500,00 bet by Zhang, who was ahead with a pair of aces. Qiu mucked and Zhang regained some chips.

Hand #107: Shuang Qiu opened to 1,300,000 in the small blind with A♥ 5♦ and Lili Tang three-bet to 3,800,000 from the big blind with A♦ 8♣. Qiu gave up his hand and Tang moved up into co-chip lead.

Ceesvin led out for 3,200,000 and Tang called to open a 8♠ on the turn.

Ceesvin checked and Tang threw in 3,500,000, inducing a fold from Ceesvin.

Both checked to see the 8♠ turn. Qiu led for 1,600,000 and Ceesvin matched to see a 4♠ on the river.

Qiu fired 1,700,000. Ceesvin threw in a time bank token, wondered if there really were horses with wings at one point in history, then made the call.

Qiu tabled K♣ 9♦ for nothing while Ceesvin showe Q♥ 6♥ for a pair of sixes to scoop the sizable pot.

Hand #103: Hao Zhang raised to 1,000,000 on the button. Qiu three bet to 2,800,000 in the small blind.

Zhang then tanked before firing out an all-in shove for 12,000,000.

Qiu surrendered.

Tang checked. Ceesvin fired 600,000 and Tang let go.

Hand #105: Action went to the blinds and small blind Ceesvin raised to 1,500,000. Zhang defended.

Ceesvin check-called the 1,200,000 bet of Zhang to show a 9♠ turn.

Hand #97: In the final hand before the break, Yayun Liu raised to 900,000 from the cutoff and also got a walk.

The players then proceeded to take a short 15-minute break.

Hand #92: Lili Tang jammed all-in from under the gun for 5,900,000 and didn't get any callers to win the blinds.

Hand #94: Hao Zhang raised to 800,000 from the cutoff and Yayun Liu three-bet to 2,200,000 on his big blind.

Zhang fired back with a four-bet shove and Liu gave up immediately.

Hand #95: Qiu raised to 800,000 from the cutoff. Liu shoved all-in on the small blind and Qiu folded.

Hand #90: Shuang Qiu opened Q♥ T♦ from the cutoff and Lili Tang folded K♦ J♥ on the button.

Abraham Ceesvin called 5♦ 2♦ in the big blind to give Qiu some action.

The T♠ 7♠ 3♥ flop was checked to the 3♠ turn. There was no recovering for Ceesvin, and he folded to a 1,400,000 bet by Qiu.

Hand #86: Abraham Ceesvin limped the small bling with T♦ 6♦ and Hao Zhang checked J♦ 8♥ from the big blind.

The 8♦ 3♣ 9♣ flop gave plenty for both to play for and Ceesvin bet out 400,000 which saw a quick call from Zhang.

A Q♣ was turned and action was checked to the A♣ river, bringing in a fourth club.

Ceesvin looks to steal and bets 1,200,000. Zhang wasn't convinced and called Ceesvin to take the pot with his pair of eights.

Hand #87: Hao Zhang limped the small blind and Shuang Qui checked the big blind.

The T♠ J♣ A♦ flop was checked to the A♥ turn.

Zhang bet 400,000 and Qui called.

The 9♠ completed the board and Zhang checked. Qui took some time before betting 800,000, prompting a fold from Zhang.

Hand #88: Abraham Ceesvin raised to 800,000 with Q♥ 9♣ from the cutoff and got a walk.

Hand #89: Hao Zhang opened to 800,000 from the cutoff and Yayun Liu defended the big blind.

The 6♣ 7♦ 4♣ gave both players a straight draw.

Liu checked and Zhang moved all in for 16,000,000.

Liu snap called, for his remaining 3,100,000 stack. Liu was slightly ahead at showdown.

Hand #83: Action folded to the blinds and Qiu raised to 1,200,00 on his small blind to score the big blind and ante of Tang.

Hand #85: Hao Zhang opened for 800,000 from under the gun and grabbed the blinds.

Hand #57: Hao Zhang had King-Jack off suit in the small blind and raised to 1,000,000 which was enough for Shuang Qiu to fold the big blind with Queen-Three off suit.

Hand #60: Yayun Liu limped with K♥ 6♣ from the small blind. Abraham Ceesvin woke up with A♠ A♥ in the big blind and raised to 800,000. Liu folded and Ceesvin remained in the lead.

The T♠ Q♣ A♠ flop was checked by Tang. Yayun bet 375,000 and Tang folded her pocket-fives. Yayun picked up and was holding Ace-Four suited.

Hand #44: Shuang Qiu opened to 600,00 on the button and Yayun Liu defended the big blind.

The 8♠ 7♥ 5♠ flop saw Liu bet out 700,000 and Qui folded.

Hand #45: Shuang Qiu opened to 600,000 in the cutoff with A♥ 6♣ and Lili Tang called on the button with A♠ J♠.

Abraham Ceesvin defended the big blind with J♥ T♠ and the players went three-ways to the flop.

The dealer fanned 9♣ 3♦ 8♥ and all checked to the 3♥ turn.

Ceesvin bet 600,000 and Qui folded. Tang called and the 5♣ completed the board.

Ceesvin moved in 1,800,000 into the middle and the option was on Tang to make the call.

Tang made the right call with Ace-High over taking Ceesvin as the chip lead.

Hand #40: Shuang raised to 500,000 from the cutoff. Small blind Yayun shoved all-in for 6,300,000 and Shuang asked for a count, but couldn't match.

Hand #35:

Yang Haiyang opened to 1,000,000 from under the gun, leaving himself with one big blind behind.

Qiu Shuang called from the cutoff and Liu Yayun topped up from small blind.

The three-way hand saw a 10c J♣ 3♠ flop. Yayun checked, Haiyang put in his last big blind, and both Shuang and Yayun called.

The 2♥ turn was checked to the Q♦ river and again to showdown.

Hand #34: Abraham Ceesvin opened to 500,000 from under the gun and saw Zhang Hao call from the cutoff.

The pair saw a 8♦ A♠ 5♦ flop and Ceesvin continued for 400,000. Hao made a quick call.

A 4♦ fell on the turn and Ceesvin checked. Hao checked behind, and they were taken to the T♥ river.

Ceesvin bet 2,000,000. Hao folded, passing more chips across to Ceesvin.

Hand #32: Abraham Ceesvin raised to 500,000 from the hijack and Li Bizhen shoved allin on the button, risking his last 2,400,000.

The turn showed a J♠ , improving Ceesvin's outs to include a flush draw.

The river spiked a 7♠ . Another seven from heaven gives Ceesvin a flush to eliminate Bizhen in 7th place.

Hao bet 400,000 and Shuang called his bluff with K♠ K♦, beating Hao's K♣ 7♦.

Hand #18: Zhang Hao opened to 400,000 on the button and Lili Tang defended the big blind.

The 8♠ J♥ 2♥ flop saw Tang check, Hao continued for 300,000 and Tang fold.

Hand #19: Action folded around to Lili Tang who bet 600,000 from the small blind and Liu Yayun called.

The 7♣ 2♥ 9♥ flop was bet by Tang for 300,000 and Yayun called.

A 9♣ was turned and Tang checked. Yayun bet 300,000 which prompted Tang to fold.

Hand #20: Lili Tang jammed for 4,000,000 on the button with Q♥ J♦ and Liu Yayun woke up with A♦ A♣ in the small blind and called.

The 5♣ K♥ J♥ flop was good for Tang, but she still needed to pick up more.

A 3♥ was turned, bringing in the heart flush draw for Tang.

The T♥ came on the river, bringing in the hearts, to save her from elimination.

Hand #16: Qiu Shuang opened to 400,000 under the gun and Yita Choong called from the cutoff. Zhang Hao defended the big blind.

The three players saw a 2♣ 6♥ J♠ flop and Hao and Shuang checked. Choong bet 500,000, Hao snap-folded. Shuang called, taking the players heads up to the turn.

Both checked 7♥ the turn to see a 7♦ river.

Shuang took some time before betting 1,300,000. Choong called and Shuang showed K♥ J♣ to take down the pot. Choong's 8♠ 8♦ didn't stand up and Shuang regained the chip lead.

Hand #11: Zhang Hao opened for 400,000 from the cutoff. Qiu Shuang three-bet to 1,100,000 on the button. Action came back to Hao, who matched.

Both were shown a flop of 3♠ T♥ 4♥

Hao tapped his option and Shuang didn't hesitate to put 820,000 across the betting line.

Hao then raised it to 2,000,000 and Shuang matched to see a 3♣ on the turn.

Hao checked and Shuang pushed 2,200,000.

Hao threw in a time bank token and made the call.

The river showed a K♠

Hao checked again and Shuang tanked before firing all in for nearly 5 million.

Hao tanked before throwing his hand away.

The big pot pushed him into the chip leader throne.
