So Hard to Fold

Level 10: 700 / 1,400 ante: 1,400

We picked up on very aggressive action on the turn between Yoshihiko Hirano at big blind and Yita Choong at middle position with a board that showed 7 7 6 T . Hirano check-raised Choong to 21,000 after the latter bet 7,700 into the pot.

Choong looked at Hirano as if trying to read his mind then made the call. The river K got a bet of 20,000 from Hirano. Choong tanked and, shook his head numerous times before finally folding his hand.

It was very evident that it was a very hard fold for Choong and that he was second guessing his decision. The dealer pushed the chips towards Hirano and before Hirano surrendered his cards, he was kind enough to show Choong one card - 7

Higuma in Shock with Winning a Hand

Level 8: 500 / 1,000 ante: 1,000

We arrived just in time to see action folded to Kazumasa Higuma at the button who raised the pot to 10,000. Hao Wang at small blind jammed his chips in. Big Blind got out of the way and Higuma made the call to find Wang holding cowboys K K against his A K

Flop came down to 9 Q T and both players just quietly waited for the rest of the board to unfurl. The turn was a 6 and with only 15% chance to win Higuma started counting his chips to match those of Wang when the river J came out.

Higuma couldn't believe it. The first thing he was was "Wow!" He apologized to Wang as Wang left, then he thanked the dealer profusely, and still in a state of shock continued shaking his head saying "Wow" while the next hand was being dealt.

Yi Shing Yiu

It was always all smiles on Table #10 with players being chatty with each other but there were no smiles for Cheng Tzu Lai when he got busted out by Yi Shing Yiu where the former jammed his chips in early position pre-flop.

We arrived at the table when the cards were tabled and the board was dealt but according to Yiu he raised to isolate so that he could be heads-up Lai.

In any case, Lai had Yiu dominated pre-flop with A Q versus Yiu's A J but the flop of J 6 K put Yiu with a 70% chance of winning the hand. The 3 turn and 6 river didn't help Lai at all.

But before Lai left, Yiu did tap the table to show it was a good game.

It Didn't Make Sense to Lai

Stephen Lai from cut-off three-bet to 2,400 after Sebastian Iargo opened action by raising to 1,000. Both the button and small blind folded to big blind Shao-Kang Chien who made the call. Action went back to Iargo who decided to four-bet with 8,500 which Lai called. Chien didn't want to take any more heat folded.

Flop came down to K A 8 . Iargo continued aggression with a 7,000 bet and Lai once again called. The 9 turn made Iargo jam all-in. Lai, puzzled, thought and tanked for quite some time, looking at the clock and Iargo alternately. A few minutes passed and with what seemed to be a look of resignation, called the all-in.

Iargo showed J 9 for a pair on the turn while Lai turned over Q Q . The river was a 2 and the dealer pushed the chips towards Lai as Iargo left the table.

A Lai was fixing his chips, the other players were teasing him and he defended himself saying, "It wasn't a - Oh fuck it decision. It just didn't make sense. It really didn't."

Hung Manages Full Street Value

Level 3: 200 / 300 ante: 300

En-Cheng Hung limped in from the small blind, and Hao-Shan Huang raised to 26,000 from the button. Adalsteinn Petur Karlsson from the big blind and Hung called.

Huang bet 25,000 on the flop of 9 6 2 and was called by Karlsson, which Hung mucked.

With a J sliding on the turn, Huang checked-called after Karlsson fired 34,000 chips in the middle to see the A river which both players checked. After Hung tabled 8 A, Karlsson folded quickly.

Action from Karlsson

Level 1: 100 / 100 ante: 100

Early in the day, players were already building their stacks before most of the players came in. And that was exactly the case on Table 6 where Adalsteinn Petur Karlsson raised to 400 at big blind with 3 other players already in the hand. Puripat Mahaguna, En-Cheng Hung and Hao-Shan Huang called the raise.

Flop came down 5 Q 7 and Karlsson fired another 400 which was called by Mahaguna in middle position. Hung and Huang folded letting the two battle it out further.

The turn of K made Karlsson fire another 1,100 but was re-raised by Mahaguna with 3,000. Karlsson called. Karlsson passed the action to Mahaguna on the 8 river and the latter shot 12,000 into the pot. Karlsson thought long about the bet but eventually folded.

First Elimination of the Day

Level 1: 100 / 100 ante: 100

Within the first 15 minutes of level 1, action happened at Table #10. Erans Shahams from Latvia woke up with K K in the hole.

Unfortunately for us, we picked up the action on the flop of 3 6 J with Shahams checking over action to Takuto Okawa, headsup. Takuto bet a hefty 3,800 which Shahams called.

Shahams check-called the 9 turn which Takuto bet 12,000 into. Shahams did exactly the same thing when Takuto jammed his chips all-in on the 6 river.

Although Shahams had big pockets, Takuto woke up today with a better one as he turned over A A
