There is a new APPT Open champion at APPT Manila 2026.

After several days of action and outlasting a field of 508 entries, Japan's Asaki Tanaka emerged victorious to capture one of the festival's biggest titles. Tanaka takes home PHP 4,800,000 (~USD 78,070), an APPT Championship Package, the coveted APPT Shard, and the honor of being crowned the APPT Open champion.

It was a memorable run from the Japanese pro, who navigated a tough final table before sealing the title in a one-hand heads-up battle to add another major achievement to his poker resume.

APPT Open Final Table

The APPT Open has reached its final table after drawing 508 entries, generating a PHP 26,334,720 (~USD 433,500) prize pool and comfortably surpassing its PHP 15,000,000 (~USD 250,000) guarantee. Just nine players remain, and one of them will be crowned the newest APPT Open champion today.

India's Vinay Boob returns as the chip leader with 3,605,000, narrowly ahead of South Korea's Seungmook Jung with 3,565,000. Filipino veteran Edilberto Gopez sits third with 2,285,000, looking to turn his near miss in the PokerStars Red Dragon, where he finished third, into an APPT title.

With the tournament now at the final table, play will switch from timed levels to the hands per level format. Players will compete in 24 hands per level, with the number of hands decreasing as the field gets smaller to maintain the pace of play.

Every finalist has already locked up PHP 479,720 (~USD 7,805), but all eyes are on the PHP 4,800,000 (~USD 78,070) top prize. In addition to the trophy and cash, both the champion and runner-up will receive an APPT Championship Package, while the 3rd- through 5th-place finishers will earn seats into the APPT Manila Main Event, which also gets underway today.
