
Maxwell Rosete Bags Towers At Flight B

Flight B of the APPT Open drew the largest crowd with 208 signing up across ten levels. Well before the bubble round, Filipino player Maxwell Rosete was seen charging up the leaderboard then seized the lead after cracking Ellezer Castillo’s pocket kings. From then on, Rosete maintained full control, applying pressure through the bubble round to finish the heat with a commanding 560,000 (112 bb) — well ahead of the field.
Further down the rung was Australian player Leo Kamiya who won this exact event last July at APPT Manila. The defending champion bagged up a healthy 296,000 (59 bb).

The bubble has burst and the unfortunate one was Zhun Wang who raised 12,000 leaving just 1000 behind. Lewis Cowell and Leo Kamiya called. At the flop Q♥ J♣ 2♦ , Wang tossed in his last 1000 and both players called then checked the turn 9♦ and river 3♠ .

Betting resumed on the river 9♠ with Seitaro check-calling 32,000. Cherkahshin revealed a winning 9♣ 9♥ full house and Seitaro could not believe it saying frustratingly "argh, river!" Then showed his A♣ .
While Cherkashin was arranging his winnings, Seitaro asked if he would call a bet on the turn, Cherkashin said he would have folded. This frustrated Seitaro even more saying "argh, mistake, mistake."

Last Two Flights To APPT Open At 12PM And 7PM

The first shard event of the 2025 APPT Manila Championship resumes with the final two flights of the APPT Open ₱20M guaranteed running today, October 18 at 12PM and 7PM. First on the plate is Flight B with blinds increasing every 40 minutes followed by Flight C in the evening with blinds at a slightly faster 25 minute pace. Buy-in is ₱60,000 (~US$ 1,030). Registration closes at the start of Level 11 for both flights. Starting stack is 30,000.
At yesterday's opening flight, 79 signed up with 11 advancing to the ITM round. The player to measure up to is chip leader Anton Iakimenko with a stack of 339,000.
