APPT National (35,000 PHP)

The last entry flight of the APPT National concluded with the last batch of ITM players established. From a field of 186 entries, 28 players bagged with USA's Francisco Mir Sanchez at the top of the heap. Sanchez delivered several knockouts throughout the flight that included Lance De Vera on a cooler with two pair over two pair. He closed out the day sitting on 646,000 which earned him the overall top spot in the Day 2 qualifiers list. Also finding success was Okada Kickoff champion, Maxwell Rosete, with a decent 347,000.

With all three flights now completed, the event attracted a total of 600 entries to push the prize pool well beyond the guarantee, reaching ₱18.33 Million (~USD 323K). 90 players have booked their spot at Day 2 along with a share of the pot.

No slowing down despite the bubble looming. William Teoh called Jiaxin Ye's preflop raise then jammed the flop 2♥ 3♥ 9♦ after Ye checked. Ye snap-called and showed 2♣ 2♦ set. Teoh had a draw with J♥ T♥ . The turn Q♦ and river 5♠ were no help to Teoh to fall out of contention.

Francisco Mir Sanchez widened his lead in a hand against Xiaohua Fu. Both players built a pot of 119,000 preflop then saw a board K♠ T♣ 2♣ . Fu checked, Sanchez bet 25,000, and Fu called. Both players checked the turn 8♦ to complete the board with 8♥ on the river. Check again from Fu, Sanchez fires 100,000, Fu called then mucked to Sanchez's A♠ T♠ .

Down to four tables with 32 players remaining. Only 4 busts needed to wrap up Day 1.

Edilberto Gopez opened from hijack for 16,000 with 9♠ 7♣ . No takers until big blind Maxwell Rosete defended with 3♣ 5♥ . Both players checked the flop 5♣ 2♠ 3♥ , then Rosete led out 25,000 on the turn 9♦ . Gopez answered with a raise of 75,000. Rosete shoved (120,000), and Gopez called.

At showdown, Rosete was ahead with two pair and held on the river J♦ for a double up.

No deep run for Martin Astorga at the APPT National as he will not be advancing to Day 2. On his final stand, Astorga tank-called for all of his chips holding A♥ J♠ on a board T♣ 8♥ J♥ . Gary Thompson had K♣ K♦ . Astorga's hopes of getting lucky on the turn and did not pan out with the cards coming 4♦ and 7♠ .

Lance De Vera looked down at suited cards J♠ 6♠ and raised to 8000 from the button. One spot over big stacked Francisco Mir Sanchez liked his cards as well A♠ J♣ and three-bet 25,000. Vera called to see the flop come J♦ 6♣ 7♦ .

With top pair, Sanchez continued for 29,000, Vera with two pair called then both checked the turn A♦ . Now with a higher two pair, Sanchez jammed when the river landed 3♥ . Vera tanked then called for all of his chips amounting to 82,000. After the cards were opened, Vera packed up in disbelief.

Registration for the APPT National is closed with Day 1C Turbo now dealing at Level 11. The last flight pulled in another 186 entries to boost the prize pool over ₱18.3 Million (~USD 323K). Play continues until the field is down to 28 players which is ITM / 15% of the field.
