APPT National (35,000 PHP)

Day 1A of the APPT National wrapped up at Cove Manila with the 123 entry field trimmed to ITM of just 18 players. At the top of the counts was Korean player Youngtaek Lim with 510,000 (85 bb), setting the benchmark for the next starting days.

Bagging up the second largest was fellow countryman Jinkwan Kim with 408,000 (68 bb). Kim held a strong lead for a couple rounds until Lim surged just before the bubble burst. Also making the cut was Xiong Cheng (APPT Manila 2024 Main Event Champion) with 236,000 (39 bb).

The survivors have a one day break before returning to the felt on July 26 for Day 2. They await the results of Day 1B and Day 1C, both of which take place on July 25. These are the last heats to have a chance at the ₱10 Million prize pool. Buy in is ₱35,000 (~USD 615).

Despite a steady climb, Joris Michl was unable to cross into the money zone busting on the bubble. Down to just 6 bb, Michl shoved with K♠ 5♦ , big stacked Xiong Cheng defended his big blind with Q♥ J♥ . The board ran out 5♥ 9♠ 9♣ J♦ 9♥ .

One of the late arrivals, Inder Chandnani immediately found a spot to get it all in. Defending on the big blind, Chandnani shoved his last 15,000 on a board 4♥ Q♦ 9♠ 4♠ A♠ . Under the gun Anant Purohit tank-called then paid up when seeing Chandnani's 6♥ 4♦ trips.

Registration for Day 1A of the APPT National closed with 123 entries in total. Only 68 players remain. Action continues until the field is down to ITM of 18 players.

Just entering the game, Rishi Mirpuri quickly builds his stack then doubles up on a lucky catch against Vamerdino Magsakay. All in with K♣ Q♠ , Magsakay is ahead with Q♦ Q♥ until the K♦ shows up on the flop and holds.

Day 1A has just entered Level 10 which is the last level to enter this heat. There are currently 113 entries with 65 remaining. This event guarantees ₱10,000,000 (~USD 175.4K) with buy-in of ₱35,000 (~USD 615). Interested players that sign up just before it closes will still have 20 big blinds with their 30,000 entering stack.

Alexander Ugay was the first bust of the day but has quickly jumped back in. Among new players that have joined the action are Sergei Korzhenko and WSOP returnee, Vamerdino Magsakay.

Cards now flying at APPT National Day 1A!

The 2025 Asia Pacific Poker Tour kicks off its second day of festivities at Cove Manila inside world class Okada Manila with the APPT National under the spotlight. This is the first chance at the APPT shard trophy and the first eight figure prize pool guarantee of ₱10,000,000 (~USD 175,400).

Back in 2018, this event amassed a prize pool of ₱21.7 Million and remains the record until today. Marc Rivera claimed the win for a payout of ₱4.55 Million. Since then other big winners followed: Benigno Ledina (2019) for ₱4.1 Million, and last year Vivencio Nachor for ₱3 Million.

To have a chance at this year's crown, buy-in is ₱35,000 (~USD 615). Starting stack is 30,000 which is 150 times the starting blinds. Blinds increase every 30 minutes. For latecomers, registration closes at the start of Level 11 at 5:20pm.
