Australia's John Edward Perry leads 26 players into Day 3 of APPT Championship

Multi-titled Australian John Edward Perry never relinquished the chip lead he picked up at the midway portion of the competition as he now leads 28 Day 2 survivors into the final stretch of the inaugural Pokers LIVE APPT Manila Championship where everyone remaining has a shot at the PhP11,610,000 (~US$199,100) top prize--one of the biggest in Philippine history.

Perry's stack of 1,785,000 is just ahead of his closes pursuer in Vietnam's Ngo Hieu who has 1,395,000 while Joey Weissman of the United States is currently in third with 1,330,000.

63 players made it to ITM and at this point, those left in the competition are now guaranteed PHP 355,000 (~US$ 6,075).

Day 3 commences later (Saturday, October 26) at 12NN (UCT+8) and will be playing down to six players who will be comprising the Final Table that will contest the title the following day (Sunday, October 27).

Vietnam's Ngo Hieu decides to join the Filipino but Korea's Cho Jaegeol has other plans as he 3-bets it to 125,000 from the D. After the blinds fold, Campomanes chooses to call while Ngo opts to fold.

139 players set to start APPT Championship Day 2

After two flights, the APPT Championship saw 139 players advance to Day 2 from currently 359 entries forking out the PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850) buy-in in this PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850) event. The good news is that heading into today's resumption level, registration is still open for those who were knocked out yesterday and to those who have short stacks wanting a fresh start.

Day 2 commences at 12NN (UCT+8) still here at the Okada Manila as Level 12 continues. At the end of the break of this one hour level, registration will officially close.
