Another page on this season's APL Taipei Main Event has been turned with Day 1D done and dusted. The evening flight welcomed a total of 131 entries and trimmed its field down to 20 survivors by night’s end, the top 15% locking up Day 2 seats.

South Korea’s Min Jinhee topped the counts, bagging 760,000 (76 BB) to place herself ahead of all Day 1's frontrunners. Close behind were Jongseon Lee with 609,000 (61 BB) and Hong Kong’s Dicky Tsang with 549,000 (55 BB), rounding out the day’s top three stacks.

To date, 594 entries have been recorded, putting the field on track to surpass last season’s 679-entry mark. 85 players have since secured a spot in the Saturday games, all guaranteed a share of the seven-figure pot.

While pressure was mounting with one more elimination left on the table, that didn't stop Jiwon Kim from pushing his last 95,000 folded to him on the button. Jun Beum Chun on the small blind, was up for the challenge, risking two-thirds of his stack.

In for a race, board K♠ K♦ 8♠ J♠ 3♥ kept Chun ahead all the way, closing the evening flight with Kim eliminated as the day's stone bubble.

With one more elimination to go, Minku Kim took the risk for his last 30,000 against Dicky Tsang's open shove and was in for a race one spot to the money.

Flop J♥ 7♠ 9♣ went Tsang's way, but failed to seal him the win as runout 3♥ 7♥ locked in a flush for Kim to survive through.

Sung A♥ Kim went with A♥ Q♠ on the hijack for his last 83,000 and ran right into Hsueh Chung Heng's big blind special Q♦ Q♣ .

The board 8♦ T♦ 5♦ 3♦ 9♦ came all diamonds, leaving Hsueh with a queen-high flush to take it down.

Running good, Timothy Yim picked up another stack, cutting the Day 1D counts by one and extending his lead over the pack.

Action kicked off with an open from Yim on the hijack for 20,000, followed by an all-in from Shen Syu Ho two spots over for 33,000 more. Yim flicked in the call, and clutched the win on board T♥ 6♥ 5♠ 7♠ 9♠ with top pair.

Chen Taung Chi open raised all-in for 84,000 on the hijack and was looked up by Jae Sung Park right next to him right on bubble time.

Chen a favorite to win, cruised to victory on board 9♣ 7♠ 5♦ 8♥ 4♠ , earning him more room to maneuver.

Bubble time has arrived, with the tournament now shifting into hand-for-hand play. Only 20 players will advance to the next stage, meaning just three more eliminations separates the field from securing a spot in Day 2 of the Main Event.
