After several days of intense play, the esteemed APL Manila Main Event final table has finally met this season's cast with only 8 contenders out of its 739-entry field remaining in the running. Today's Day 3 welcomed back 53 players to the scene, and after eight levels of play, the field thinned and the final table was set. Each player is now guaranteed PHP 903,000 (~USD 15,565) in winnings and stands only inches away from the PHP 9,650,000 (~USD 166,695) top prize.

Japan's Mitsuki Sakimoto stole the spotlight throughout Day 3, dominating the action from the moment the field reached the last three tables. One of his biggest boosts came at the expense of Day 1 chip leader Sangwoo Chun, whose set was crushed by Sakimoto’s turned flush, sending him to the rail in 22nd place .As the action progressed down to the final two tables, no one could come close to matching Sakimoto's commanding lead, leaving a 100 big blind gap to the next player in following. Sakimoto delivered two more eliminations just as the day closed and finished with a massive 12,425,000 (155 BB) stack to come into the Final Day with nearly half the chips in play.

A significant distance behind Sakimoto, South Korea's Hoseung Jung is positioned second in rank with 4,900,000 (61 BB), trailed closely by local gunner Reiner Magbutay two big blinds behind.

A 50-50 spot, board 8♣ 3♣ 4♦ 6♠ K♠ this time, favored the overcards, earning Jung the pot as Zehetleiner bound for the rails, just shy of making the Final Day.

Yu Liu open shoved 930,000 on the cutoff and saw Reiner Magbutay right behind rise to the challenge.

Liu in rough shape, was out of luck as board K♥ 8♥ J♥ 5♥ Q♦ left him drawing dead instantly against Magbutay's nut flush, sealing his elimination as the final table bubble.

Mitsuki Sakimoto opened on the button and snap called Soo Jo Kim's 960,000 all-in from the big blind.

Kim dominated, accepted his fate and headed for the rails just as board J♣ 7♠ Q♣ 9♣ 9♠ kept him behind all the way.

Running thin, Czardy Rivera stuffed his last 435,000 on the hijack and was called by Reiner Magbutay on the small blind.

Magbutay well ahead, sent his opponent packing after board 6♠ T♦ K♥ 4♠ Q♦ left Rivera with seven-high.

Mitsuki Sakimoto fired a hefty 360,000 three bet on the button against an utg open, and saw John Tech on the big blind commit his last 685,000 in the middle. Initial raiser opted out while Sakimoto flicked in the rest.

Tech primed for another double up, instead bowed out as board 7♠ 3♠ 2♥ J♣ 9♣ landed Sakimoto a pair of jacks to deliver the bust.

Jongwon Lee stuffed his last 245,000 and was met with another short stack all-in from John Tech behind. No one else joined the action, leaving the two to run board A♦ 4♦ 4♣ 5♣ 3♠ .

Lee completely missed out, shipping Tech the boost and up another pay jump.

Younhan Lee defended his big blind against Sunghak Lee's 120,000 button open, and went on to check raise 250,000 on flop Q♦ 7♣ 2♠ . Sunghak completed and snap called Younhan's 240,000 all-in on turn 6♣ for a showdown.

On river T♥ , Sakimoto gunned for a final 1,150,000, leaving Tech to pay the price, only to muck as Sakimoto showed a full house 9♥ 8♣ . Tech tabled an 8♦ in return as he relinquished the pot.

Soo Jo Kim pushed 535,000 on the hijack and was looked up by chip leader Mitsuki Sakimoto on the small blind.

Kim a huge favorite, easily secured the double up on board 5♣ 3♥ 5♥ J♦ 4♣ , boosting him back up to 15 big blinds.

With action folded to the blinds, Yu Liu open raised all-in and saw Reiner Magbutay call off his 1,130,000 behind.

In for a race, board J♠ 6♦ 7♥ J♦ 3♦ ran dry for both , leaving Magbutay's ace-high good for the takedown.

Younhan Lee opened utg and was called by Yu Liu on the hijack.

On board J♣ 2♣ 3♠ 5♠ , Lee double barreled 150,000 each street, with Liu tank raising all-in by the turn. Lee out of time banks, slipped a quick fold, earning Liu the boost.

Down short, Hyuntae Kim pushed his last 440,000 in the middle and faced Hoseung Jung at showdown.

Kim dominated, managed to outflop his opponent on board J♦ 3♥ 3♣ Q♠ , up until the river K♦ landed Jung a better pair to turn it back in his favor.

Yongjae Lee went with ace-three for his last 505,000 on the button and was called by Jae Yi Chang on the big blind with ace-king. Lee dominated, exited in quick fashion after missing to catch a lucky runout.

Hyuntae Kim flicked in his last 175,000 utg, called by Czardy Rivera on the small blind. Soo Jo Kim on the big blind, reshoved for 480,000 and successfully got Rivera out of the way.

Whilst a cooler situation, no damage was done on either player as the runout 9♣ 5♣ 7♦ 8♥ 6♥ landed a straight on board for a split pot.

Younhan Lee opened early position and committed his entire 825,000 after Yong Jae Lee moved all-in on the big blind.

Running another flip, Younhan dodged a potential elimination, having spiked a set on board Q♠ 8♦ 5♥ 6♥ 4♥ to lock in the win.

Jae Yi Chang opened to 120,000 mid position and shelled out 475,000 more following an all-in from Suguru Sawada on the small blind.

Jung well ahead, kept his advantage all the way through board 7♦ 5♣ 6♦ K♥ 3♠ , leaving Kim drawing dead right by the turn.

Edgar Asehan defended his big blind against Younghun Kim's 100,000 cutoff open, and check called 145,000 on flop J♥ 3♥ 4♠ .

On turn Q♥ , Asehan faced another 275,000 from Kim and responded with an all-in. Kim called off his remaining 375,000 with A♥ K♦ and was at risk against Asehan's already completed flush T♥ 2♥ .

River 9♣ made no difference, leaving Kim out in 19th place finish.

Renato Villanueva Jr opened 100,000 on the hijack, called by Paul Zehetleitner on the button.

On flop 6♦ 6♥ 5♣ , Villanueva continued for 75,000 and Zehetleitner called again behind. Turn 4♥ saw Villanueva this time, check to Zehetleitner, who bet 200,000. Villanueva went for a raise to 850,000 and convinced Zehetleitner to lay it down.

On his third push, Jongwon Lee finally met a caller for his last 370,000 with initial raiser Mitsuki Sakimoto rising to the challenge.

Lee at risk, caught up on board 8♥ 2♣ 5♣ Q♣ J♦ , earning him the much needed double up and another run at the title.

With action folded to the blinds, Mistuki Sakimoto opened to 175,000, called behind by Soo Jo Kim.

On flop K♦ 3♦ 4♣ , Kim called a 65,000 cbet from Sakimoto but gave it up shortly on turn T♠ after Sakimoto went for another 250,000.

A back and forth between Edgar Asehan and Yu Liu quickly landed both stacks in the middle - Asehan at risk for his entire 980,000 stack.

The worst cooler in Hold'em ran on the felt, with Liu falling victim on board J♣ 3♣ 8♠ 5♠ 4♦ .

Japan's Mitsuki Sakimoto continues to be in command over the remaining 19-player field with a staggering 7,165,000 chip count in arm. To see how big of a lead that is, it's about four times the average stack and 102 big blinds away from second in position Yu Liu's 2,060,000 chip count!

Czardy Rivera opened on the button and called off his 680,000 stack after Younghun Kim on the big blind, moved all-in.

Kim behind, managed to catch some straight outs on flop Q♣ 8♣ J♠ , yet bricked runout 7♦ 6♦ to seal the win for Rivera.

Following the loss, Edilberto Gopez chucked in his remaining 415,000 on the small blind and was looked up by Paul Zehetleitner right behind.

Board 2♠ 9♣ 7♥ 8♣ 6♣ ran dry for both, leaving Zehetleitner's ace-high good for the bust.

Edilberto Gopez open raised all-in utg and saw Renato Villanueva Jr call off his 740,000 stack right on the big blind.

Gopez dominated, spiked his two outer on the flop, yet booked the loss shortly after Villanueva landed a queen on the turn for a better set to take it down.

Facing an open and a button call from Sangwoo Chun, Mitsuki Sakimoto lodged a three bet to 280,000 on the big blind and saw only Chun complete.

On flop 8♣ 4♣ T♣ , Sakimoto continued for 130,000 and was met with an all-in from Chun for around 2,000,000. Sakimoto took the gamble with the nut flush draw A♣ Q♦ and was up against Chun's set 8♥ 8♠ for a massive pot.

Turn Q♣ instantly completed Sakimoto's flush with the river A♠ missing to fill up Chun's boat to send him out.

Paul Zehetleitner defended his big blind against Reiner's Magbutay 100,000 button open, and went on to check raise 250,000 on flop 5♣ 2♠ 3♦ . Magbutay responded with an all-in, risking his entire 780,000. Zehetleitner, convinced he was beat, threw in the fold, slipping his hand back to the dealer.

Chanhee Yea pushed his last 350,000 in the middle and was called by Jae Yi Chang on the hijack.

A coinflip situation, Chang landed a slam dunk win on board Q♠ T♥ 2♥ 6♥ 6♣ , running a full house to deliver the bust.

Mitsuki Sakimoto opened 80,000 on the hijack and found two callers behind - Suguru Sawada on the button along with the big blind.

Action on flop A♦ A♥ 2♦ was checked to Sawada, who bet 80,000. Big blind folded while Sakimoto raised back to 250,000. Sawada completed and faced another 400,000 from Sakimoto on turn K♦ .

Sawada called once more and was put in a tough spot just as Sakimoto barreled all-in on river 4♥ . Sawada burnt through all his time banks and eventually surrendered, shipping Sakimoto yet another win.

Younhan Lee opened 80,000 utg, joined by Hyuntae Kim a seat after.

On board K♦ Q♦ T♥ , Lee double barreled 100,000, followed by an all-in for 355,000 on turn 4♥ . Kim called the initial street yet folded against the shove, showing a Q♥ . Lee returned the gesture, revealing the nuts A♠ J♥ .

On his second push, Masafumi Matsushita once again raised all-in, this time for 400,000 on the cutoff. Paul Zehetleitner on the big blind, looked him up for a showdown.

Zehetleitner dominated, outflopped Matsushita on board Q♣ J♣ 9♣ 2♣ 6♥ , enough to cut his opponent's Main Event run completely.

Chanhee Yea open shoved 185,000 mid position and faced Hyuntae Kim's pocket pair behind for a flip.

While board 4♠ 5♠ 5♣ 2♥ 3♥ felted none of Yea's overcards, it did run him a straight to score the double up. On the next hand, Yea pushed all-in again and picked up another round of blinds and antes.

Chip leader Mitsuki Sakimoto is on a roll, picking up yet another pot to shoot up past the 4 million mark and extend his lead further.

Sakimoto opened early position, raised by Oh Se Kyung to 175,000. Sakimoto responded with an all-in for the rest and Kyung called off his 350,000 behind.

Up for a race, Sakimoto's momentum, clearly unstoppable, clutched another victory on board 2♥ 5♦ 5♣ 3♥ 7♦ , sending Kyung out in 26th.

On the next hand, Mitsuki Sakimoto kicked off the action with an open on the cutoff and clapped back with a fourbet to 330,000 against Jongwon Lee's raise on the small blind. Lee completed and went on to lead 500,000 on flop A♦ 4♣ T♥ .

Sakimoto gave it a thought and decided to raise all-in for Lee's 31 big blinds behind. Lee gave up the fight, relinquishing yet another pot to the reigning chip leader.

Jeseok Lee opened in early position and was met with a 150,000 raise from Mitsuki Sakimoto on the button. Soo Jo Kim on the small blind, padded it further to 385,000 and saw only Sakimoto complete.

On flop 5♥ 7♥ 2♣ , Sakimoto called another 255,000 bet from Kim and arrived at turn K♦ . Kim this time, checked and tank folded after Sakimoto shot out a bet of 450,000. Sakimoto picked up the pot, pushing him atop the ranks over the last three tables.

In a preflop battle, Lester Edoc put his tournament life on the line with king-queen and was up against Soo Jo Kim's queen-jack. Edoc was geared to take a double up, yet instead crashed out as Kim spiked a jack on the river to snag the win and bust the Filipino out.

Fresh off a win, Edilberto Gopez opened 48,000 on the hijack and saw both Sangwoo Chun and Luis Bernardo on the blinds complete.

On flop 7♥ 8♥ T♠ , Chun checked and Bernardo went ahead to bet all-in for his last 107,000. Gopez called behind, prompting Chun to raise the stakes to 350,000. Gopez came back with an all-in after some deliberation, and Chun snap called for his remaining 542,000.

Masafumi Matsushita opened 55,000 on the cutoff, called by Soo Jo Kim right behind.

On board 9♠ 6♦ 5♦ 8♥ T♦ , Matsushita check called three streets from Kim - 55,000, 140,000, and a final 230,000, only to muck as Kim revealed a flush J♦ 9♦ . Kim picked up yet another 22 big blind boost, putting him in command over the 35-player field.

Ron Ryan Mesina fired a 200,000 three bet on the cutoff against a hijack open and saw Soo Jo Kim raise all-in on the big blind. Mesina called off his remaining 127,000, and found himself in rough shape against Kim's better pair.

Mitsuki Sakimoto limp called Michael King's all-in on the button and picked up another stack to add onto his towering pile.

Sakimoto outran King on board 4♦ 3♣ 9♥ 5♦ A♣ , landing a set to bust his opponent out.

Sakimoto picked up a hefty boost just prior after serving Jonald Garcia his elimination in 39th place. According to Garcia, the two clashed on a flop of Kx Tx 9x with Garcia holding Qx Tx against Sakimoto's Ax Jx. River striked an ace and shipped Sakimoto the win to crack the 2 million mark.

Having slipped a three bet just the hand prior, Lester Edoc was it again, and this time, saw Oh Se Kyung cold call the 145,000 on the button. On flop K♣ 9♣ 8♥ , Edoc was quick to give it up as Kyung fired all-in for 241,000.

Several short stacks are seen on Table 2 with over half the players seated holding less than 20 big blinds.

Younghun Kim opened 40,000 early position and was met with a 105,000 raise from Jeseok Lee on the cutoff. Kim clapped back with a four bet to 315,000, sending Lee in the tank. After using two time banks, Lee elected to fold, shipping Kim the dead money in the middle.

A preflop back and forth saw Ota Yuma risk his tournament life - 288,000, only to find himself in rough shape against Edilberto Gopez' better ace.

Yuma with luck on his side, found a pair of sixes on board J♦ 6♦ 2♥ 7♦ 3♠ , catching another chance at the title.

Mitsuki Sakimoto opened early position and went on to four bet jam his entire 668,000 against Hernan Villa's raise behind. Villa snap called with a premium pair, putting Sakimoto in danger.

Lucky for Sakimoto, the board 7♦ 6♠ T♦ 5♥ 3♥ rolled him a straight, more than enough to send Villa's kings flying towards the muck. Villa survived the damage but exited just the hand after.

On flop T♠ 4♦ 8♠ , Liu check raised all-in against Marquez' 40,000 cbet, and saw his opponent call off his remaining 170,000.

Hyuntae Kim opened 40,000 on the button and saw Ryan Platon on the small blind come along.

On board A♣ K♣ 3♦ 8♥ , Platon check called two streets - 45,000 and 55,000 from Kim, and checked a third time around on river 4♣ . Kim decided to check it back, and muck as Platon revealed a pair of kings K♦ 9♠ .

Alfonso Baja opened utg and called an 88,000 three bet from Sangwoo Chun on the big blind. On flop J♦ T♣ 7♣ , Baja called another 60,000, but let it go on turn 3♣ after Chun barreled all-in.

Anastasios Pavlou pushed his remaining 96,000 in the middle and was called by Younghun Kim on the button.

Up for a flip, Pavlou missed to find a pair on board 6♦ 2♥ J♠ A♣ T♦ , sealing his elimination.

Today's action will thin down the field further with play coming to a halt once the final table is set.

Local gunner Ryan Platon ended Day 2 on top, having amassed a massive 1,668,000 (139 BB) stack to come into Day 3 in prime position for a deep run.
