APPT Manila: Natalie Teh Tops APPT Main Event Day 1B

APPT Manila at Cove Manila at Okada

The 15th Edition of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour concluded  Day 1B of the APPT Manila Main Event with Malaysia’s Natalie Teh closing as heat leader. Teh went on a tear during the last three levels, taking down a series of pots including a bust out. One of Teh’s last hands was earning with Ac4c straight. Teh bagged up 90 bb based on the blinds entering Day 2.

The APPT Main Event Day 1B attracted a much larger field than its opener with 354 entries across the ten rounds of late registration. By the end of the 15 levels, only 56 remained. Among the survivors joining Teh to the next round are notables Lester Edoc, Huu Dung Nguyen, Julian Warhurst, Gabriel Carter, and super high roller winners Vamerdino Magsakay (APPT One Million Challenge) and Michael Soyza (APPT Super High Roller).

Filipino Redentor Edoc also bagged up. In early July, Edoc won the APPT Warm Up which awarded him a seat to the APPT Manila Main Event. Edoc will bring in 54 bb into Day 2. Among the strong finishers was Shobu Oda and Zhao Feng, both players delivering a double knockout.
