Running through August 6th at Okada, Manila, Philippines, the awaited Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila Main Event has finally arrived on the felt. Being the crown jewel of the series, the tournament posts the largest guarantee on this season’s lineup at an exciting PHP 20,000,000 (~USD 361,366). While the minimum pot is already as thrilling as can be, players can expect another massive Main Event from the PokerStars Live brand with the guarantee already breached only one flight in.

Opening day welcomed an exceptionally good turn out after a total of 395 entries were collected for its first qualifying flight on schedule. Only five hours of registration was all it took before the guarantee was breached, listing a generated prize pool of PHP 22,754,745 (~USD 408,365) to cap the day.

Local pros were in full force as they battled it out on the felt including 2019 APPT Main Event champion Florencio Campomanes, 2023 APPT Super High Roller champion Mike Takayama, William Ysmael, and David Erquiaga, none of which qualified into Day 2. International notables Park Yu Cheung, 2019 APPT Kick Off winner Jinlong Hu, Max Menzel, and William Teoh were also seen in the mix but failed to lock up a spot in Saturday’s games. On the other hand, Hong Kong’s Hon Cheong Lee, and New Zealand’s Fisher Slade can take the day off as they return to the tables on August 5th.
