Poker players in South Korea are gearing up for the richest festival in town, Ace Poker League (APL) Seoul, boasting ₩3,500,000,000 (~USD 2.63 Million) in guarantees. This ambitious figure represents a ₩500 Million increase from its initial announcement.
Since the onset of the pandemic, APL has dedicated its efforts to South Korea, consistently delivering highly lucrative festivals with prize pools experiencing substantial growth each year. During its previous run in October 2023, the festival amassed over ₩3.8 Billion in prizes, equivalent to over USD 2.88 Million. The bulk was generated at the Main Event, which drew a record turnout 2,737 entries for a ₩2.18 Billion (~USD 1.6 Million) prize pool.
The upcoming APL Seoul takes place from February 27 to March 4, 2024 at the Swiss Grand Hotel. With a lineup of 18 trophy events, the festival promises excitement for all. International players are invited to join in the action. Last year, Japan stole the show when Yuta Takazawa championed the APL Seoul Main Event for a career high ₩350,600,000 (USD 258,900) payday. This was only the second time a non-Korean player has claimed the title on Korean soil.
Beyond the thrilling poker action, Seoul is a must to explore. It stands out as one of the most captivating cities worldwide, offering endless tourist attractions such as cultural, music, art, fashion, technology, and great food.

APL Seoul Main Event bumped up to ₩1.6 Billion
Players will be thrilled to see the APL Seoul Main Event guarantee up half a million Korean Won from previous for a starting prize pool of ₩1.6 Billion (~USD 1.2 Million). This marks the first time APL has guaranteed a prize pool of this magnitude, and based on the brand’s popularity, it is expected to be easily surpassed.
The hype has already kicked off with a couple of APL Road To Seoul events hosted in Daegu and Seoul. Fresh off a huge victory at EPT Prague, notable Korean player Gab Yong Kim continued his winning streak at APL Daegu Series – Road to Seoul Main Event, securing himself an APL Ring. Same as well for Ki Park who won the APL Seoul Series – Road to Seoul Main Event.
