The newest international circuit 2020 WSOP Online champion was South Africa’s Michael Clacher “YesPlease” at the WSOP #36: $1,500 FIFTY STACK No Limit Hold’em. He became the third South African to ever lift a bracelet, joining previous winners Norman Keyser and Hugh Todd.

There were many firsts tagged with this glorious win. With only a short list of 7 live cashes all on home soil, this event was his first ever known win, it was also his first WSOP cash, first WSOP win, first six figures, and his largest ever known payout to date. To reach the gold, YesPlease overcame a field of 1,342 entries, dodging two WSOP decorated players at the final table, to rein in the $ 297,496.30 first prize.

Picking up the action at 11 handed, the lone Asian remaining, young gun Neel Joshi “Neel” from India, suffered two hits to his big stack by doubling up Michael Clacher “YesPlease” and losing a chunk to Olivier Rebello “BigPapyBoss”. BigPayBoss continued to rise, railing profishnal7 (11th) followed by Mokki1 (10th) a few minutes after to enter the final table as top dog.

The last race to the gold clocked in at an hour and 15 minutes starting off with a called shove on the first hand. Rich Dixon “DadPoker” survived the heat with pocket threes holding up against Jose Luis Davila “Machenzzio” big slick. The hit sent Machenzzio down to three BB’s which he pushed with pocket fours to back him up only to fall in 9th place to BigPapyBoss’s overcards. Joining at the rail was Viktor Zsemlye “Ryuzaki1” whose AcQc was unable to crack WSOP bracelet winner Joao Vieira’s QsQd. The table trimmed further at the fall of DadPoker to WSOPC ring winner Martin Zamani “FuTimReilly” when KhQh failed to improve against JcJs.

At six remaining, BigPapyBoss claimed his second victim in Neel Joshi who only had six bbs left. FuTimReilly went on a rush to steal the lead though brief as Rodrigo Dos Santos Caprioli “PAPAI_PIG” doubled up with ace-quuen dominating ace-seven. It was all in preflop, seven on the window then a queen on the turn. With his newly gotten chips, PAPAI_PIG crushed Vieira’s hope for a second gold, taking him down with AsJh over Ac7c, seven on the flop, jack on the river.

PAPAI_PIG continued to exert dominance, earning a big pot against FuTimReilly to take the lead. However, his momentum was halted by BigPapyBoss with Ah8h flush to Kh5c pair. Despite the loss, PAPAI_PIG resumed the attacks resulting in the fall of FuTimReilly with another dominant ace high hand. Ten minutes later, Michael Clacher “YesPlease” claimed his first head in BigPapyBoss with a set of fives to top pair.

Heads up kicked off with YesPlease slightly ahead of PAPAI_PIG who quickly evened it up on the first hand. Next hand would tip the scale in favor of YesPlease, winning a big pot on an uncalled three-bet shove.

From there, YesPlease did nothing but rise until he built a 3:1 advantage. The final hand soon arrived. PAPAI_PIG fell in 2nd place on a failed bluff. He shoved with 8d7d on board 4s5h9c10cQc and was called by YesPlease with Qd4d two pair.
