A week of games has quickly gone by at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Vietnam – Passport to the World Championship. The festival has been ongoing at the Crown Poker Club Hanoi since October 6 and runs until 16, 2023. More trophies were claimed last night and another WPT Prime Championship Package snatched up. Here are the latest winners and results.

Ivan Konechnyi rises from 4 bb to Big Bounty champion

At the two-day Big Bounty event, Russian player Ivan Konechnyi was down to just 4 bb during the bubble round and managed to stay afloat to reach ITM and advance to Day 2. As one of the 13 returning players, Konechnyi found his way to the final table however  with no change in his stack.

The final table was where Konechnyi outshined that by three-handed, massive stacked Khoi Nguyen could not stop the Russian’s strong run. Nguyen fell to Konechnyi to bring about heads up.

Konechnyi was ahead over 4:1 in chips however Nguyen Kim Trung Son was a formidable opponent landing two double ups.

Though the gap tightened, Konechnyi kept his foot out front. The final hand was Konechnyi 8h8d, Nguyen KsJc. The board ran 8c3hAs10h3s.

Based on Hendon Mob, this was Konechnyi’s first live win. He pocketed the ₫133,700,000 top prize and six bounties amounting to ₫30,000,000 for a combined ₫163,700,000 (~US$ 6,690) payday.

Song Li wins the High Roller 2 Day Warm Up and WPT Prime Championship Package

China’s Song Li emerged victorious at the High Roller 2 Day Warm Up to claim the 1,950,100,000 (~US$ 79,660) top prize plus a WPT Prime Championship Package worth $2,850. Watch the thrilling final table race via the Crown Poker Club YouTube channel

The event drew a stellar field of 138 entries for a guarantee crushing prize pool of ₫8,031,000,000 (~US$ 329,367). The top 18 places earned a cut. Tran Van Hung led at the start of Day 2 with 31 returning. The bubble burst on Romain Morvan whose AsAd were cracked by Chen Mingcong’s 6h6c. Chen spiked the two-outer on the turn 5hJd8d6d. It was all in at this point. The river 7s ended Morvan.

Chen went on to reach the final table and finished in 6th place. For the day’s entering chip leader Tran, he finished 3rd. The title came down between Song Li and Le Ngoc Minh. Song carried in the advantage and never relinquished. The final hand was a cooler with Song’s AhAd dominating Le’s KhKs.

The Pot Limit Omaha event attracted 33 entries with only six earning a portion of the ₫384,120,000 (~US$ 15,700) prize pool. The title came down between two PLO pros, Hanh Tran and Terry Gonzaga. In the end, Tran prevailed to add another trophy to his big collection.

After busting out of Main Event Day 1A, Russian player Sergei Iablokov jumped in the Deepstack Turbo as one of the last of the 73 runners to sign up. He went on outduel fellow countryman Anatolii Gorbushin at heads up to capture his first recorded live title and a payout of ₫130,360,000 (~US$ 5,325).
