Day 2 of the WPT High Roller played through today, April 3rd with 16 runners bagging a stack from the previous qualifying round. With registration open for one more level, it took only two hours of play before the final table was formed with Belgium’s Thomas Boivin holding down the lead. The small 33-entry field deemed only five runners banking a share of the KR₩ 582,120,000 (~USD 432,970) pot with all eyes set on the KRW 218,520,000 (~USD 162,530) top prize.

China’s Tang Tianyuan exited as the money bubble, having ran his last 15 big blinds in right into fellow countryman Zhou Quan’s pocket kings. With all remaining players guaranteed to bank a profit, USA’s Daniel Lee followed just ten minutes later, having stacked off with AcKd against Boivin’s KhKs. Four-handed play lasted four more hours before Zhou lost a flip to Boivin once more to knock him out of the running. Keeping the positive momentum, Boivin continued to deliver the last two eliminations to eventually secure the victory and land the win after just twelve hands of heads up play against USA’s Stanley Weng. Boivin takes with him the lion’s share, the WPT Korea trophy, as well as a WPT High Roller Ring for his impressive performance.
