In a week’s time the World Poker Tour (WPT) in partnership with Connaissance Management, will kick off its 22nd season in Phnom Penh, Cambodia featuring the first ever Main Tour in Southeast Asia. Running January 17 to 30, 2024 at the world-class NagaWorld Integrated Resort, it is the biggest festival ever announced by the brand in the region featuring a 44-game lineup, highlighted by the US$ 1,000,000 guaranteed WPT Cambodia Championship.

This is the first time the WPT has extended a seven-figure prize pool for a single event in Southeast Asia, and the first time a player will be crowned the WPT Main Tour title at this location. As tradition, the champion’s achievement will be forever memorialized on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup, which according to WPT Live Events Specialist, Danny McDonagh, is already onsite.

NO TAX on winnings

Cambodia is particularly appealing to players because there is NO TAX on winnings. This applies to both the tournaments and cash tables.

Stay at NagaWorld

For players needing accommodations, the best place to stay is of course right onsite at NagaWorld. There are two towers to choose from, prices vary. Special player rates are available but limited so make sure to ask.

Getting to the NagaWorld Complex

Travelers arriving at the Phnom Penh International Airport can get to the NagaWorld Complex via Grab Taxi or Metered Taxi Service Global Taxi. The journey is 10km and should take about a half hour.

Currency in Cambodia

Most Cambodian shops readily accept US Dollars, which is more common than Riel. Cash games and tournaments at the festival will use USD. Players can exchange currency at NagaWorld 1 and at the underground mall.
