USOP Vietnam: Juiciest events to conquer before the Main Event

The inaugural U Series of Poker Vietnam resumes with games underway at the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi from April 14 to April 24. The Main Event hits the felt on April 20 and before doing so, the schedule offers a wide range of tournaments to conquer. The juiciest ones are listed below. Make sure to jump on these as they will surely draw big crowds. For players with lighter pockets, three are listed; for high rollers, three as well.

For lighter pockets

Superstack Madness – VN₫ 600,000,000 (~US$ 25,600) guaranteed

This is a one day event taking place on Sunday, April 16. This tournament is perfect for players who enjoy a great structure with plenty of playing time. Players start with a stack 400x the opening big blind. Blinds increase every 25 minutes. Registration closes at the end of Level 10.

Mini Main Event – VN₫ 2,000,000,000 (~US$ 85,300) guaranteed

This is a phased event running from April 17 to 19. The structure is very similar to the Main Event however with faster blinds and a shorter stack. Three starting heats are offered. Players begin with a stack 300x the opening big blind. Blinds increase every 30 minutes at Day 1 and 40 minutes for Day 2. Registration closes at the end of Level 10.

Bounty Event – VN₫ 400,000,000 (~US$ 17,000) guaranteed

This is a one day event taking place on Tuesday, April 18. For every knockout, players receive VN₫ 2,000,000. If you eliminate three players, you are now freerolling. Players begin with a stack 250x the opening big blind. Blinds increase at a fast 20 minute pace. Registration closes at the end of Level 8. 

For heavier pockets 

Superstar Challenge – VN₫ 1,500,000,000 (~US$ 64,000) guaranteed

Created and popularized right here in Vietnam is the Superstar Challenge. This is the most expensive tournament scheduled and the most coveted by the high rollers. Expect the biggest names in Vietnam poker and international sluggers go head to head. Event runs for two days, April 16 to 17. Players start with a stack 300x the opening big blind. Blinds increase every 40 minutes. Registration closes at the end of Level 12. The final table will be livestreamed.

High Roller: Superstack – VN₫ 1,200,000,000 (~US$ 51,200) guaranteed

This is a one day tournament taking place on Monday, April 17. For those that miss the Superstar Challenge final table, this is the next best trophy event to tackle. Players begin with a very healthy starting stack 400x the opening big blind. Blinds increase slowly as well, a gradual 40 minutes.

Super High Roller – VN₫ 2,000,000,000 (~US$ 85,300) guaranteed

This is the second most expensive tournament and the best high roller structure of the series. It runs for two days, April 19 to 20 with registration open for another two levels in Day 2, closing at the start of Level 13. Players start with a stack 400x the opening big blind. If you sign up at the very last second, you still have a decent 20 bb stack. Once registration closes, blinds increase every 60 minutes.
