The APL (Asia Poker League) announces a 5 Billion VND GTD Main Event in Vietnam

The Asia Poker League intends to continue this trend in Vietnam with its APL Road Series Vol. 2 Vietnam. Hosting the event will be the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City.
The APL Road Series Vol.2 will take place from May 25th to June 4th. The big tournament players from all over the world are looking forward to most is the Main Event. An event hosted at the Pro Poker Club
The highly anticipated event will take place at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The venue opened its doors on January 19th with only 20 tables and has continually filled its seats. The club has hosted several poker festivals and has since grown bigger, adding a second floor and 15 extra tables to accommodate its constant expansion.
Earlier this year they held the APT Kickoff Vietnam with a guaranteed prize pool of only 3 billion VND; they surpassed that with a staggering 664 entries and the largest tournament prize pool in Vietnamese history – 9.6 Billion VND.
A new frontier for the Asia Poker League
The APL has its sights set high in Vietnam, following the APT’s accomplishments. Formerly, the APL has only hosted events in China, but in February 2018 they broadened their horizons by having their first successful event in the Philippines. Unlike previous poker events in the Philippines, the APL decided to have their APL Road Series Vol. 1 in Pampanga rather than the commonly chosen city of Manila. They were handsomely rewarded as players from all over the world flew in for the event, and covered the 5 million Peso guarantee with over 275 entrees.
Vietnam’s borders are widening as poker players have a new location to hone their skills and make money. With the government’s recent leniency towards tournament poker and clubs opening all over the country, the future looks profitable.
