KPC Baby Dragon Day 1A Recap

The first event on schedule drew in a total of 77 entries across eight levels of registration and played down to 15% of the field at 12 players. Early busts were seen all around with nearly half the field already dusted by the time registration closed in. It took only four more hours on the felt before the day wrapped up with China’s Chen Wen Wen holding down the lead, stacking a sizeable 350,000 (44 BB) chip count. Chen inched over the field just before the dinner break after finishing off Hon Cheong Lee with back to back wins, and successfully carried this momentum all the way to the end.

New Zealand’s Tae Hoon Han trails closely behind with 347,000 (43 BB) having gone through massive swings by the last hour of the day. Han took a crushing blow after a blind vs blind clash against Zhou Wanchen, yet managed to recover right on bubble time. Amongst the list, Han appears to be one of the most decorated players with over $770K in tournament winnings according to The Hendon Mob, with results dating as far back as 2012.
