Poker8 Cebu hosts inaugural Chase Cup ₱5 Million guaranteed in the Philippines

Through the years, the Philippines has been one of the top poker destinations in Asia. International and local events populate every yearly calendar, keeping players constantly busy. Enter the newest addition to the local scene: the Chase Cup, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of PH₱5 Million (~USD 86,900) and an iconic Rolex Submariner timepiece for the champion. Scheduled to run from May 1 to 7, 2024, this inaugural series will take place at Poker8 Cebu in Mandaue City. Chase Cup ₱5 Million Guaranteed

The upcoming Chase Cup ₱5 Million Guaranteed is a seven-day series featuring three events. The Main Event dominates the schedule running the full length with five starting days, allowing players plenty of chances at the pot. This is followed by Day 2 and the Final 9. To enter, buy in is ₱18,800 (~USD 327). Player start with a 30,000 stack, blinds increase every 40 minutes. Registration closes at the start of Level 9.

For players that miss the mark, two side events are scheduled. The highly popular Mystery Bounty is on May 6 with buy in of ₱8,800 (~USD 153). This is a one day event. On closing day, May 7, is a High Roller event with a buy in of ₱50,000 (~USD 870).

While the majority of poker events in the Philippines are centered around Metro Manila, the Chase Cup breaks tradition by hosting its event at Poker8 in Cebu, located in Central Visayas. Travelers coming from both local and international destinations will need to fly into Mactan-Cebu International Airport. From there, it’s just a quick 10-15 minute journey to reach the venue situated in Mandaue City.
