Zhang is an Australian poker player who built his career across the Asian tournament circuit — accumulating nine live titles across multiple countries by his mid-30s, a rate of winning that compares favourably with almost any Australian player at his earnings level. His first major international title came at the Macau Poker Cup in January 2014, where at age 26 he entered the HK$6,000 Baby Dragon event and defeated a 332-player field to win HK$340,800 — his first tournament of the year.

His 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event run — which ended in 10th place for AU$120,000 — showed that his game translated to the biggest domestic stage. He was eventually eliminated when he moved all-in and ran into a better hand after the turn paired his opponent’s kicker.

In April 2018 he travelled to Goa, India for the Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament series, spending most of the event in physical discomfort with an upset stomach. Despite this, he accumulated chips steadily, took control by the time the field reached four-handed play, and won comfortably.
