Poker Dream and Top Joy Poker Tour set to stage multi-million festival in Malaysia end of March

Poker Dream, in partnership with Chinese brand Top Joy Poker Tour (TJPT), is raising the stakes in Malaysia having unveiled RM 15.5 Million (~USD 3.3 Million) in guarantees across twelve steamy days. This is the brand’s most lucrative festival yet and is highlighted by the jaw dropping RM 10,500,000 (~USD 2.2 Million) guaranteed Main Event. All the action takes place at Genting Highlands, Kuala Lumpur from March 28 to April 8, 2024.

Since the brand’s launch in mid-2022, Poker Dream has grabbed hold of Malaysia, hosting four jam-packed festivals in the country. The most recent generated a new record prize pool of RM 20 Million (~USD 4.2 Million). For the first time, the Main Event reached seven USD digits, paying out over RM 5.7 Million (~USD 1.2 Million). As the brand gears up for its next festival, expectations are high to shatter these milestones with an irresistible 35-event schedule. To accommodate the anticipated crowd, 80 tables will be prepared at the venue. Let’s have a look at the highlights.

Poker Dream 9 Malaysia Main Event

At the top of the list is of course the Main Event and its stunning RM 10,500,000 (~USD 2.2 Million) guaranteed prize pool. Not only is this the biggest Main Event guarantee announced in Asia, it is also nearly double its own record of RM 5.7 Million.

The Main Event runs April 1 to 8, 2024 with an ample twelve entry flights scheduled. For those that have yet to experience the Poker Dream format, the Main Event offers three buy in tiers – RM 3,600 (~USD 773), RM 4,800 (~USD 1,030), RM 7,200 (~USD 1,545) – with varying time increases and percent of qualifiers advancing to Day 2. The most affordable plays down to 7.5% of the field, the mid-range plays down to 10% of the field, and the most expensive plays down to 15% of the field. All advancing players are in the ITM round.

Since the pandemic, Poker Dream was the first Asian brand to bring together the biggest poker figures in the world to play side-by-side the masses. This impressive mix will be present once again with several high rolller events scheduled. Most attractive seems to be the Super High Roller with buy in of RM 40,000,000 (~~USD 8,530).
