Tien Quyet Pham or Teddy Pham - SOMUCHPOKER
Quyet Tien Pham aka Teddy Pham is a multi-titled poker professional from Vietnam. Pham prefers competing at the local tournament circuit where most of his success has come from. He has been competing since 2010 and has surpassed the 500K milestone in total live earnings with $594,776, placing him 25th in the Vietnam All Time Money List.
Teddy Pham – Poker Life
Teddy Pham cut his poker teeth interestingly competing abroad before focusing on local tournament play. From 2011 to 2014, Pham competed regularly in the Melbourne circuit including the Melbourne Crown Casino Recurring Tournaments, Melbourne Poker Championship, Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Melbourne and the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific. The Vietnamese won his first title at the 2014 Melbourne Crown Casino Recurring Tournaments, taking the Saturday Special side event. Pham also made deep runs at the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific 2014, Melbourne with three cashes totaling over $13,000.
In 2015, Teddy Pham began competing out of the Melbourne Circuit, testing his skills in Manila, Vietnam and Macau. Pham returned to his homeland in May, to play in the Asian Poker Tour Ho Tram, Ho Tram, finishing second at the Deep Stack Turbo 2 Event. But money-wise, his most successful outing was at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Asia Championship of Poker, Macau, making a final table finish at the NLH Event for a cash of $ 9,431.
In 2017, Teddy Pham won two minor titles, one at the NLH Deepstack Turbo Event of the Asian Poker Tour Manila and the other at the Saturday Special of the 2017 Loyal Poker Club Recurring Tournaments, Ha Noi. After playing only one tournament in Australia in 2018, Pham would make the pivotal decision to continue his poker career, competing exclusively in the local circuit in Vietnam. He returned to international play only this March 2024. It was also a serendipitous choice as Vietnam was one of the countries who responded to the pandemic early with effective health protocols thus allowing a return to live tournament play. Pham benefitted from this as he claimed a significant win in November 2020. He shipped the Super Star Challenge title at the Vietnam Series of Poker Championship 2, Ha Noi for a career best cash (to date) of $ 49,902.
Big Year
2022 though would prove to be Teddy Pham’s highlight year. Pham began the year with deep runs at the Hanoi Spring Championship and World Poker Tour Prime Vietnam. In June, the Vietnamese pro made a final table finish at the Super High Rollers event of the Asian Poker Tour Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022 banking $ 24,916. Pham then scorched the live felt at the World Poker Championship – SEAPT Hanoi by taking a trio of runner-up finishes at the High Roller Single Day, High Roller and Superstar Challenge Events then finishing the tournament by placing 3rd at the High Roller Club Event for a grand total cash of $ 97,570.
Teddy Pham ended the year with a title, clinching the NLH High Roller Single Day Event of the Hanoi Super Series, adding $ 20,174 to his cash bounty. His total earnings for 2022 amounted to $ 182,943.
The momentum would continue through 2023 when Teddy Pham captured the first everAsia Poker Championship Da Nangside event trophy. Pham overcamethe Warm Up event’s 90-entry field and the bigger stacked Chang Hwan Lee of South Korea at heads up play for his sixth title. In October, Pham ran deep in the Main Event of the Poker Dream 7 Vietnam for a $28,368 payoff.
In 2024, Teddy Pham returned to overseas play with runs at the Poker Dream 9 Malaysia and the 55th World Series of Poker 2024, Las Vegas but home soil brought him his familiar success with back-to-back second place finishes at the High Roller Warm-up and Super High Roller Events of the 2024 Vietnam Poker League Summer Series Hanoi. Pham netted a combined total cash of nearly $ 40,000.
